Island Teriyaki — Restaurant in Glendale

Super nice owners (i’m assuming the guy upfront who took our order was the owner and the woman helping was his wife), great friendly service, clean and comfortable inside. Those are all 5 stars. But the food was not great, it was barely good. Now, it’s our first time there so we only had a couple things, but none were good. I tried the Jamaican chicken, it was very dense and dry white meat with very little flavor and no spice, disappointing because I love jerk chicken. The sauce they offer on the side was genuinely not good, now I love sauces, usually all sauces of all kinds, super easy to please, but this sauce wasn’t good, doesn’t taste like teriyaki or soy at all, and since the dark meat chicken bowl I got wasn’t very good (dry, not much flavor), the ‘not good sauce’ didn’t help at all. My wife got the white meat bowl and said it was super dry and not very good. The “salads” were okay, but were essentially foam-clamshells packed with cold, fresh head lettuce, and the extremely thin, watery dressing was alright. The best part of the food was the steamed rice. I honestly wish I could rate this place higher because the guy who took care of us was really cool, and his wife (I’m assuming) was nice too. I absolutely love this place for my teriyaki bowls... I personally recommend the "Caymen" if you want 2 items in your bowl... I get the Maui style chicken(dark) and Veggies 😍😍😍 which btw their veggies are amazing... I'm not a fan of bell pepper BUT they use red and something about the way they cook it gives it a sweet yumminess 😂😂😂 I'm horrible I know if you want simple get the basic Maui (dark meat) teriyaki bowl... Their crab puffs come in orders of 4 yes 4 that's a lot from panda they only gave me 3 so that was automatically a + for me... They tasted fab-u-lous!!! So puffy and full 🤔🤔🤔damn I'm hungry now again Oh the Bermuda triangle' s those are basically(similar to) deep fried tortillas with sugar... So sugar chips I guess... They are pretty good as long as you eat them fresh not as good cold... All my food has been a pick-up order so I cannot comment on the establishment the younger sounding woman that I spoke with on the phone was very helpful and sweet... Excited about...

This is the best Asian food restaurant out there! Been going here for years and the food is delicious everytime and never disappoints! I've tried so many of their dishes from the teriyaki bowls, yakisoba, fried rice, chicken and now their new bologui bowl which is a new top favorite and it makes it hard to pick what to get each time. Sides are also super yummy from their eggrolls to crabpuffs and even the salad dressing for the salads is so good and I would buy it by the bottle if I could to have at home! The prices are great for what they give you because its a big portion and I usually always have leftovers. Everything always tastes fresh and real and the service is always wonderful. I have yet to have a bad meal from there. If you haven't been there definitely give it a try! You won't be...
