I've been dying to try egusi soup, but the restaurants up by where I live don't have it. I was extremely excited to find it down here while I'm visiting my family.
The fufu was better here than other places I've had it (soft and pliable, not dry and crumbly). I have no comparison for the egusi soup, but IMHO, it was amazing! Very flavorful! Love that the hot sauce was on the side bc while the flavor of the hot sauce was amazing, it was spicy! In a good way, of course, but I liked that I was able to control the amount of spice.
My only critique is that I did not realize it was pick up only and was a bit confused when I walked into a little grocery store, I thought I was in the wrong place at first. There was a gentleman who saw my confusion and showed me where the pick-up area was, so I'm grateful for the sweet, attentive staff. I think it might be useful to have some signage that says online orders this way.... or something of the sort. But great food and staff, so I'll most likely be stopping in at least once more before I leave town. Thank you for a wonderful...
Read moreI’ve ordered food from Karibu Restaurant multiple times, and there’s always an issue—except for the samosas. The Congolese goat meat is consistently as hard as a rock, making it nearly inedible. To make matters worse, Uber Eats refuses to issue refunds, leaving customers stuck with overpriced, low-quality meals. Karibu Restaurant needs to stop serving burnt, subpar food to paying customers. People deserve fresh, well-prepared meals, not trash.
This place is a joke. I received a plate full of bones and old, dark chicken meat that was tough like rubber. The chikwangue was dark, smelled awful, and was inedible. This was supposed to be poulet mayo, but it’s not even close—it was disgusting, old meat with an odd yellow paste on the chicken. If you don’t know how to cook this dish properly, please hire a better cook or a real Congolese chef who knows how to prepare it. First and last time ordering here...
Read moreI had the pleasure of dining at Karibu Taste Restaurant, and I must say, their African cuisine is truly exceptional! The flavors, the spices, the presentation - everything was just perfect. I tried the Jollof Rice with Suya Chicken, and it was love at first bite. The chicken was tender and juicy, and the Jollof Rice was cooked to perfection. The service was also top-notch, with friendly and attentive staff.
What impressed me most was the authenticity of the dishes. You can tell that the chefs are passionate about African cuisine and take great care in preparing each meal. The restaurant's ambiance is also cozy and welcoming, with beautiful African decorations and music.
If you're looking for a taste of Africa in Arizona, look no further than Karibu Taste Restaurant. I highly...
