I used to love this place, but lately had twice very bad experiences. First time I was in line and saw that customer in front of me was touching borek with bare hands, and took it off the bag and put on the table. Old guy, who was a cashier, took that borek, and placed on the lower shelf. And sold the same borek to the following customer. That was just gross and disgusting. Yesterday, 7/19/2025, I was an early customer, and wanted to buy boreks to treat my guests. The same old guy, who is cashier, took all boreks from the lower shelf and placed to my bag. On my question are those fresh, he replied- yes, of course. I did not check, but when I arrived home, it appeared that boreks were not fresh at all, and even corners were dried out. Of course I just trash those and would never treat my guests with this kind of food. This is not acceptable way to have business. Read moreThis is my first negative review ever. I am truly amazed seeing all those positive reviews. Today I ordered one dozen of Lahmajune from this bakery. I requested two individual packages of six in each one. I n addition I ordered six Maneishe. My husband picked up the order and brought it home. The packages were very unprofessional. Just twelve lahmajunes thrown in a thin white bag, which was wet in the bottom. There were no wax paper squares in between. It was not appetizing, therefore I did not bother tasting it. The package of the maneishe was made in the same manner as lahmajune. In this case, I wanted to taste it, but... alas, it was so stale that I could not swallow and had to spit out! I love the traditional over-the-counter service with a person who is putting the bread in the oven's to bake fresh and fill the entire restaurant or bakery with an aroma that is appetizing.
You can feed two people very easily for $20 and still have some to take home.
