Really quick service & edible lol, pizza; I'm j/k - their pizza is yummy, I'm just not a pizza eater, but my nephew is (he's 15 so yeah!).
For my hella sensitive pancreas & tummy organs, this pizza doesn't murder me. One slice is the size of like, 2. We do their special which is 18" & wings; I can't remember the price, but my mom said it's not too bad, & that it's a good deal. Their wings are big & meaty, drenched in wing sauce - my nephew loves Stevie's Pizza.
They're easy to not see, but are in the parking lot of Frys, on the corner of 59th Avenue & the 101. The shop is pretty small, but has lots of seating for eating in or waiting; they have the Phoenix New Times, stocked, for your reading/taking pleasure, too! On Halloween, the employee let me take a few handfuls of candy (lol I'm nearly 34, but love candy) outa the bowl, & was all around, a nice & joking/funny guy. The temp inside was quite balmy, but like I said, close-quartered & ya know, hot pizza ovens.
The pizza is kinda salty, but so far, the half cheese & half snausage one, is good & they're in the Fry's shop parking, so convenient & quick, plus not too pricey; I recommend... especially if you're the weirdo kind who like to fold their pizza, than eat it all...
Read moreI dislike giving a bad review to small family-owned businesses, but here it goes. After trying this place for the 3rd time, I would recommend getting pizza somewhere else. How bad is it? Well, in a room of 100 hungry students, there were LEFTOVERS and some people opted to leave HUNGRY rather than eat it.
While the pizza looks somewhat impressive, the dough is flavorless, dense, and tough to chew--nothing like a real New York style pizza. The toppings taste similar to what you would get on a frozen pizza.
If you want pizza nearby that is worth your time and money, I would recommend Babbo Italian Eatery just another exit over.
Additional note: I'm not sure if "Stevie being back" is such a great thing: He's kind of an intimidating guy with a sour attitude--not great for dealing with customers. I can look past that though, since I'm all about rating the food product rather than the staff. What I cannot tolerate are Stevie's long, grey, wirey arm hairs in my pizza. Sorry Stevie, keep feeding the masses, but I cannot currently recommend your place at...
Read moreHeard they had new owners, so food & management was better (unlike previous), so we checked it out again. Staff was super friendly and helpful!
1st Visit: We got the Pizza & Wings combo, which everyone has, but the Pizza was fantastic - edge-to-edge toppings and not chintzy! And the wings... they were meatier and not twigs, and not over-vinegared w/ the buffalo sauce. Made nice snacks for a coupla days!
2nd Visit: We tried the Lasagna and Chicken Parm - they forgot the sauce for the spaghetti (which we didn't notice until we got home from pickup), but they immediately apologized, refunded the ChicParm, and credited us for future visit. Hey, stuff, happens, and they took care of it, so great move!
3rd Visit: We intend to try some sammiches tonight to see how they stack up (pun intended)!
3rd Visit Update: Got the Philly Cheese Special and the Stromboli special... Philly was delish, but the Stromboli, whew, that was knocked outta the park...
