It's a clean well kept environment. Our waitress was quick to take our order and post it for the chef. The food was actually quite good. Our problem, similar to others, was that it took a long time for the food. And because it's an open kitchen, it's easy to identify quickly who's supposed to do what. There were 2 people in a booth and 1 gentleman at the counter when my wife and I arrived. Three people staffing the restaurant. And no new customers arrived until just prior to us leaving. So it was very manageable. I don't normally time how long things take at restaurants unless I notice a reason why I should. What I noticed was after our order was posted for the cook, he spent 5 minutes leaning against a cabinet flipping through a cell phone before moving to the register area for another 5 minutes then finally coming back to begin our order. I had a good angle and spent the next 15 minutes watching what was going on. Our waitress also would look over at his progress but never at any point engaged him about getting started on our order. Once he did, he did a good job so I believe this young man has it in himself to be very good at his work. Unfortunately, this was over shadowed by his neglect in starting our order. And I believe our waitress needed to say something to him as well. Total time to receive the order, an omlette with a pancake and a mushroom burger was 25 minutes. There were no other orders at the time. Remember this is an open diner. I had a front row seat and could see everything. One other thing, he cooked the pancake early in the process and it was delivered 10 minutes prior to everything else. I believe the waitress felt guilty about the time we were waiting and his progress. The problem with that is that I will not eat without my wife so it sat and got cold while we waited for the entire order including her mushroom burger. Like I mentioned, what he eventually made was prepared very well. The place has potential if he can do better at self motivating and the rest of the staff would step up and make it happen if need be. Remember, people come in hungry. It can be quite frustrating to watch what we observed this evening. Being made to wait. And we almost got up to leave as other reviewers have as well. Customers are why you are there. Laugh loudly with each other once you are sure your customers are...
Read moreI've eaten at this restaurant in the past (about a year and a half ago) and remember good quality food and very friendly staff; the restaurant I ate at tonight was very different, and definitely not in a good way. The restaurant was dirty, staff seemed like it was made up of a new crew who didn't care whatsoever about service, and the food was atrocious (we'll get to that.) First off, the staff didn't even know or care to know what was on the menu in the first place, I had to change my order twice and even then she thought an entree was just a side salad. Second was the fact that the waitress was careless enough to put our orders in all out of wack (fries last and NOT part of the meal, all orders very spaced between even though they were at the same time) I can understand that if the restaurant was busy but it wasn't anything remotely close to it. Okay, the food now; The food was terrible both in quality and taste, I know what to expect from 24hour diners and I've eaten at my share of them around the country, but the quality and flavor was lower anything I've ever seen in ANY restaurant. Dry meat, tiny portions, stale (not toasted) bread. But that still wasn't the worst part of it; the absolute worst part was that I was hit with food poisoning not an hour later and I knew it was without a doubt from this establishment's poor care. I just think that if you can stoop this low in quality and carelessness, you should stop and rethink how you manage a restaurant and everything that comes along with it, and also maybe change your prices so that the customer isn't charged for OVERPRICED food poisoning. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant if I was asked and I'd even go as far as to go out of my way to not recommend this...
Read moreI would pick -0 stars if possible. We have been here a few times, never really had issues till tonight. Poor guy is back there cooking alone. Almost our entire order was wrong. I ordered fried mushrooms as an app which is supposed to be 14 for 9.50. When I got it it was 7. That was after I had to ask to get them because we never got them. I ordered a French dip, when I got my food it was cold and had not gotten the gravy. I ordered my daughter one pancake and one egg she got two pancakes and one egg. Both were overcooked. Had to get my sandwich heated. My mother got a cheese burger and they gave her a double. When we asked the black hair girl at the counter for help she was rude and thought we were just trying to be difficult. She call her GM which was a tall skinny lady with short gray hair who was equally as rude. When we asked her about the mushrooms she said it was the number of the item, this was a lie because I have gotten them before, and the pickles also had the number 14 next to it. I don’t think two different menu items would have the same item number. Without saying anything she yelled to the girl at the desk says to take off the French dip and the mushrooms. I refused to pay almost $10 for 7 small fried mushrooms and did not eat my French dip. On top of having to wait 20 mins for my gravy and the food getting cold, it was disgusting from the one bite I did take. The girl at the counter had to make it clear that the guy was autistic, which is also rude and does not excuse the service or the food being gross. And if he is in fact autistic he should probably have someone helping him. The girl seemed like she couldn’t be bothered while she played on her phone. We will...
