Food is ridiculously over priced, wait staff was nice. But $15 dollars for a slice of bread cut in half(French toast) and its not even texas toast bread. it's just regular bread cut in half, two eggs, and a single sausage is ridiculous. And $20 omelet!?! $10 bowl of cold cereal?!?Just eat at home. My friends used to love this place because in the PAST it WAS CHEAPER, and NOW it's tasteless food at a PREMIUM PRICE. It was VERY CRAMPED inside. The aesthetic of the restaurant was cool but if you keep looking, you'll see all of its flaws. Mostly senior citizens eat here, so bumping up the price and not changing the quality of the meal is doing a disservice by digging deeper into that social security money. My only enjoyable experience was finally being able to leave. SUMMARY: The food is nothing to brag about, the prices are the biggest complaint (at the store for $15 you can 12 eggs, bread, and a pack of sausages for multiple servings. Here you get 2 eggs, a single sausage, and a single slice of thin bread cut in half), cramped indoor seating (outdoor seating is sometimes available), the restaurant needs some cleaning (don't look up). Go to IHOP or Dennys instead, better yet...
Read moreI’ve been going to Ed’s place for about 20 years. It’s been my favorite place to go and catch up with a friend. Eat an easy meal, hang out for a while and talk.
Today, we stayed at the table for a while after eating. Our server, Michael, comes over clearly irritated and tells us there’s a two hour limit and we have to vacate the table. Then stands there to escort us out. I’m really taken aback as I look around: it’s 11am and the place is empty except two other tables. We’d been there for 2 hours and 10 minutes. We hadn’t been asking for more refills or anything. The only thing we were doing was taking up the table…. in an empty restaurant.
I suppose if he had asked nicely I wouldn’t have minded much as we were leaving then anyway. Instead, he spoke to us like we were creating a disturbance, not long time patrons talking after breakfast. When we payed, he passive aggressively told us the total while deliberately avoiding eye contact.
Michael clearly needs some time off and then a new job where he doesn’t have to interact with others.
After 20 years, I won’t...
Read moreI thought the veggie omelette was really good and our server was kind and helpful! They accommodated our party of 6 for lunch right away (on a Saturday) by quickly pulling some tables together outside, which was nice. We actually did get lucky with parking but yeah, the spots were few and far between. I think the one thing that was kind of shocking about Ed’s was that they charge $4 extra for a side of fruit and it was much less fruit than I’d anticipated for that price. I wish I’d known, I would’ve just stuck with one of the regular sides. Also instead of the veggie, the server handed me an omelette with meat in it that belonged to someone else at the table. She was very apologetic, no harm, no foul. I’d just recommend double checking things, especially if you have a specific diet or allergens to watch out for. But other than that, the food really did hit the spot! Perfectly cooked omelette, pancakes were a major hit at our table, and the burger was apparently...
