What a beautiful location! We were right on the water in Yorktown. After a long day of revolution war education we needed some well earned dinner. There were not a lot of options, but the Yorktown Pub was highly rated. The restaurant was smaller and a parking lot to match, but there is a free parking garage a short walk away. They also have a large tent setup outside with some great views of the water. We started with some local draft beers that they offered, which were good. We ordered the hush puppies and nachos to start. The hush puppies were on par with most, but the nachos were lacking. The chili on the nachos tasted very good, but the economy tortilla chips and hard cheese really detracts from what good nachos should be. For our entrée we ordered the battle burger, reuben, and potato skins. The burger was a little over done from what I ordered which dried it out a little. The onion rings that were on top were very good. I ended up eating one and keeping one on the burger. The BBQ sauce came on the side which was sweet baby rays. I may be a little critical of a burger, but it was $14+, so I think its deserved. The Reuben was good, but the dressing was very light. The potatoe skins were very good, very thick bacon. Thats an extra charge though, but worth it. We skipped dessert and stopped at the ice cream place down the street. The service was good and the atmosphere was excellent. Again I struggled between 4 and 5 stars, but with the slight increase in price from my norm, assuming the lack of options, the beach, and tourist area allowing this on stop of the minor issues we had with some of the food I went...

This is one of my go to places when I come to Williamsburg. You get to really feel the old world pub experience.
Today we started off with a dozen clams on the hall shell and the awesome crab dip! The crab dip was so delicious served with slices of a buttery toasted bread.
For lunch we ordered the large house salad with fried oysters, the sweet and savory salad and 2 orders of the grilled crab cake.
OMG, I had the crab cakes and so did my wife. That thang was so friggin huge, hot and buttery! It was served on a large toasted bun with a side of fries and I got the side salad. The fried oysters and salads were enjoyed by our friends.
Nicole was waitress, she was amazing and took great care of us. Another perfect time at the Yorktown Pub!
*********++ O.K. we are ready to roll with our annual visit (from NY) to Yorktown Pub!! I called in advance to give them a heads up with our crowd 21+....Brandy or waitress greeted us with a huge smile and kept that smile when we asked if we could do separate checks, and Jos at a different table......man o man, Brandy was so cool!!!! She just filed with us and had fun with us all.
We started with the crab bites, 6 Oysters and a split of the hot pastrami with a friend. For lunch I ordered the Gonzo burger (covered with Gorgonzola cheese) and the Pub burger.
The Gonzo burger was out of this world delicious. The slaw was dyomite, the oysters friggin amazing, horse radish. .hot.
Most important, Brandy and Jennifer were amazing and chef Brian got it all out on time, that's...
Read moreAside from the food, this pub has a lot of respectable qualities. The general atmosphere of the restaurant is clean and inviting, and the wait staff are friendly and hard-working. It is also a nice location within short walking distance from Yorktown National Park and the historic district there. As for my meal, I ordered fish tacos as my entrée from the specials menu. Overall, the tacos were good, being a 6 out of 10 due to their decent ingredients, nice presentation, and good flavor profile. The "veggie of the day" was green beans which were served over cooked, unseasoned, and contained a 2" piece of plastic wrap. This suggests to me that the "veggie of the day" is actually the veggie of the week which has been reheated and served in a mess-hall style kitchen for multiple days. It has been two days since my visit at the time of writing and in that time some of my co-workers would visit Yorktown Pub and two of them would also report that they had found plastic wrap either in or on their food.
I also ordered an Old Fashioned cocktail which I wish I had taken a picture of, because I was concerned from the moment it was placed in front of me. Instead of orange rind and a Maraschino cherry, the cocktail contained a brutally severed orange slice, haphazard chunks of orange, and a cheap commodity cherry. It was questionable at best and I couldn't even finish this $15 waste of table space, because it was somehow both flavorless, and overly sharp.
If you like cheap beer, this is a fantastic place to go. Otherwise, spend your...
