Tequila's Family Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Golden

The hostess seated us without giving us menus. No smile, no personality at all. She seemed almost annoyed that she had to seat us. It was 6:30 pm, so not late when they wanted to close up. We sat there for quite a while before someone came to give us chips and salsa. We had to ask her for menus. Sat there again for a long time before a waitress came to take a drink order. She came back with drinks and took our meal order. We had to pay extra to have our burritos smothered in green chili. We've never been to a Mexican restaurant in Colorado where you have to pay extra to smother your burrito.

Our food came out quickly, and piping hot... which would be great if the food was good, but it wasn't. The waitress never came back to refill drinks or ask how the meal was.

We had to ask for our check, as did other customers. One man went to the bar to ask for his check and pay to get out of there.

It was staffed appropriately for the business they had at the time, yet service was painfully slow and inefficient. It seems they need better training.

None of the staff appeared happy at all. They didn't smile, didn't interact with each other, and only minimally with customers.

This has got to be the WORST experience at this restaurant we've ever had, don't normally come for lunch but we decided to visit and couldnt have been more disappointed. We were first greeted or should i say approached with a woman named Guadalupe ( that's the name we were given, by the manager who said her name was Ms. Garcia), from the minute we were approached it was as if we were an inconvenience. Our server was overly annoyed when we didnt know what we wanted to drink as soon as we sat down, we were then approached by " the manager" who was equally as unenthusiastic. When it was tine to pay my card woukdnt swipe and we were tokd they dont accept chip payments, we were pressured to figure out a cash payment or end up paying fees to transfer money to a different card. The manager then took my card and when she returned informed me she had manually entered my card for payment, i wasnt aakrd if this was ok and a tip was added to the check. Same! here a year ago and I haven’t been back my partner take me here. 9/28 23 It’s the same. They choose to serve one demographic before the other. I was out waiting for 20 minutes before I got offered water. I was on the patio and other couple just got seated an water. That’s when they came out. There was nobody in the restaurant. No lunch rush nothing but still the lack of service is a palling.

7/28/22 Called a day before for a birthday dinner they said they didn’t do reservations but to come in 30 mins early the next day to accommodate. Next day here 30mins early they said our table would be ready.. not till 7:30 did someone communicate that there wasn’t a table.. we our people of color and the vibe given was we don’t want you here. I will be back to hopefully this change if not I would spend my money where someone didn’t have the Decency to know their capacity for the restaurant having someone wait around for dinner it’s hard to get another reservation somewhere else.
