Santa Barbara Chicken Ranch was a surprise treat for myself and my partner after receiving a $50 grub hub gift card from my employer. Granted, I hated to have had to use Grub Hub because I know they charge the restaurant fees but this was a chance for me to try the restaurant and perhaps be a return customer. The service was quick and rushed. Unknown to me exactly the culture of the ordering system prevented me from fully enjoying my meal as apparently they normally have a salsa bar to accompany your meal (they provided tortillas and it was expected to make your food into a taco) but because the bar is shut down I had no idea there was something else missing from my meal that would have drawn the taste out more. The 1/2 chicken was all white meat and was amazing though I would have expected a half of chicken to be 1 thigh, 1 breat, 1 wing, 1 leg and I did not see that option. ...

Grilled meat is the name of the game here, and it's a good game! Chicken is always highly flavorful. Their tri-tip beef is cooked to medium (or just above, in my opinion) and tender and delicious. You can order platters with just chicken, just tri-tip, or a combination of the two. Rice and beans are nothing special but not bad. They have good salsa options included in-house roasted salsa, as well as pickled jalapenos and onions.

I took my friend to the Chicken Ranch in Goleta. It's across from Panda Express by Jersey Mike's and Lowe's. It's always clean and the food always tastes good. We each got the 1/4 Tri Tip Plate. It comes with Tri Tip, Spanish Rice, Pinto Beans, and Tortillas. You have a choice between Corn and Flour Tortillas. You also have a choice of self-service Salsas. The Tri Tip is ALWAYS Good!
