When I went to Island Feed and Seed for the first time, I was overjoyed by the staff's kindness and compassion. I live at the people of color student housing cooperative in Isla Vista, and Island Feed and Seed donated hundreds of organic seeds and gave us a generous discount when they heard we wanted to start our garden in order to grow healthy food. As university students who live in Isla Vista, we have limited access to affordable, healthy food. This store is the best. They answer questions honestly rather than try to sell you something you don't need or won't work. The various fertilizers and concoctions they make for the garden are all organic and function as promised. Island F & S is a business the operates the way it used to be, before the giant corporations and and on-line stores created a "customer support" lines that are usually frustrating and worthless. I love this store! The staff and owner are friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. They carry everything from garden supplies to pet food, and they have a really great selection of healthy pet food.
