Brides, get your wedding cake somewhere else.

If you are an out of town bride don't even bother with this bakery. I had to call three times before I got a hold of the decorator Ashley. I asked about setting up a tasting appointment. They don't offer a free tasting of cake instead you have to buy their cupcakes. Then when I told her that a particular Friday and Saturday (more than a month in advance) would work for me to discuss cakes, she told me she had a bachelorrette party to do but couldn't remember the exact day. Then proceeded to tell me that earlier in the week is better for her. Excuse me. I'm the bride. I'm going to spend hundreds on cake for my wedding and if you can't make time for me in your busy schedule I will take my money elsewhere. Zero out of ten. This place doesn't do weddings.

UPDATE: They emailed me a response. While their explanations were appreciated that doesn't change the fact that other bakeries are better for weddings and offer free tastings.They appeared to be unwilling to work with scheduling. Also, I don't appreciate being told that I should not have posted this review. This is my opinion. I have a right to it just as they have a right to disagree. They seem like a good bakery for everyday needs. Just not weddings.

I used to love coming to this bakery all the time about 15+ years ago. The last 2 times I ordered from them the order was messed up. The first time was a few years ago and it was the wrong frosting on a birthday cake (vanilla instead of chocolate). The second time was a few weeks ago. I ordered 3 dozen cupcakes with a certain design. The top dozen was correct, but the bottom 2 dozen had half the cupcakes with plain yellow swirl frosting rather than the design I asked for. I ended up with an entire dozen of plain yellow cupcakes that were mixed in with the others. The shower was sunflowers themed, so I had asked for sunflowers on each cupcake. The yellow swirl was also a slightly different tint than the sunflowers. I guess I learned to check the entire order if I ever order again before leaving. They did apologize for not checking with me before changing the design I asked for. The cookies I also ordered were great but also not the design I saw on their website and asked for. Everything is pricey and they can’t tell you an estimated price...

My experience today wasn’t at all appreciated by the lady that so called greeted me. I didn’t get a name, but she was an older lady, she called me a “sir” then laughed without correcting herself, so I told her I wasn’t a SIR I was a woman and that I look like a woman!! I’ve never been mistaken as a man, I’m very attractive, my physics resembles that of a woman, so I don’t know what her intentions were, she didn’t apologize or anything. She then started to continue laughing and rushing me to buy, I looked at her in disbelief, because she was just being really rude and racist because I’m Afro-Latina. I ended up walking out the store without making a purchase for my sons event in Elkhart today. I instead, and my first interest was to go to Rise N Roll where the employees have more respect and class. As I was leaving she continued to laugh as if her actions were on purpose, I think it’s sad when a person has that type of character and heart inside of them, just low and very disturbing.
