This morning, Mirta and I tried the new Granbury Pancake House. We read all of the reviews and wanted to come to our own conclusions. Well, it exceeded all of our expectations! The service was outstanding. The employees are young and had fabulous, positive attitudes. They seem to love working there! Kevin, the owner, came out and shared his story and testimony with us. He had us in tears with his story and his faith. I wish everybody heard it. Ask him about how they are supporting the culinary department at the High School. Mirta and I became instant and loyal patrons after this morning!
The menu says the French Toast is a āculinary masterpieceā and Mirta agreed! I am a pancake snob. I even bring my own pure maple syrup with me because I canāt stand the āfructose syrupsā most places serve. I ordered the blueberry pancakes. Typically there are two types of Blueberry pancakesā¦the ones with blueberries in the batter, and the ones with blueberry compote. Granbury Pancake House has BOTH! PLUS PURE MAPLE SYRUP!!! And the baconā¦just look at this pic! Perfectly cooked, crispy but not burnt, smokey, and thick like beef jerky. We both ordered extra servings so we could bring them home with our leftovers. The portions are HUGE! By the time we left, the place was full and people were waiting to be seated. Granbury Pancake House is about to break the ācurseā that the previous restaurants have experienced! GPH is here to stay!!!! Five stars from these two very...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe arrived on Sunday at noon so we expected to have to wait and we knew it was a soft opening so thereās bound to be some bumps but this was ridiculous. Start with walking in the door. My husband held the door open for the hostess and the people she was seating. Thereās nothing to indicate where to check in when you come in so I waited for the hostess to finish seating the people she brought in. She walked back towards us looked right at me and turned away walking to the podium behind a pillar and a fake tree. I finally walked towards the bar/kitchen area where you can see the podium and asked if this is where we check in. The hostess acted like she didnāt know we were there. We were told there was a 20-30 minute wait so we waited. It was more like 40 minutes and there was a couple that came in after us that were seated immediately they didnāt even give a name so Iām guessing friends. We finally got seated and ordered. I ordered breakfast my husband ordered a French Dip. I asked for onions in my potatoes after an hour wait we finally got our food mine was cold and no onions. My husbandās was warm and half his sandwich had onions I guess we know where the onions from my potatoes went. I had to send my bacon back to finish cooking and I didnāt get that back until we were...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI've been wanting to try the Granbury Pancake House since it opened earlier this year. It exceeded my expectations!
We went mid-morning on a Monday (about 10am). It was fairly busy for the time with maybe 12 tables full. My fiance wasn't too thrilled with the limited menu and thought the $10 - $12 price tag for almost everything was high. We decided to split the 1866 for $18.66. When the food came out, he literally said holy sh*t. Haha! The portions were HUGE! Which for sure makes up for what he thought was a higher price tag for the food. I attached a photo where you can see my hand in comparison to the pancakes. Everything is for sure Texas size. We ended up not being able to finish it all. The 1866 came with 2 huge Pancakes, 1 Belgium Waffle, 2 Sour dough toasts, biscuits and gravy, 2 eggs, homefries and bacon. The bacon was so crispy and good!
The food was SO good. Everything was cooked to perfection. The butter had a unique taste and was soo good! š I will for sure be back!
The waitress was attentive, too. The place was clean and everyone was friendly. For sure the BEST breakfast restaurant...
