Grumps Burgers — Restaurant in Granbury

Grumps burgers was fantastic. I actually went with students from high school (I was that one with 20 students ordering on one tab). The workers at the cashier were extremely helpful and efficient in getting our orders in, even going so far as to pull out a calculator and tally up each student's order individually so they knew if they were over or under our predetermined per student allowance.

We waited for our food outside and had a fantastic time in the courtyard, shaded by the red barn at the back of the property. There is a whiffle ball field in the back, with a high fence to keep the balls in, that my students LOVED. An employee came out with about 8 little trays heaping with peanuts for the students to shell and much on while we waited for our food. It was a nice touch that they surprised us with.

Our food arrived and the students dug in. I'll be honest: with a group of that size it's practically impossible to get the order perfectly right the first time. Indeed, two of our burgers were not prepared correctly and we were missing one order of fries. But that was it. We addressed it with them and they immediately corrected it, surpassing my expectations. They were very courteous with us and our large party, to the point that I will definitely be returning.

Oh, and the food was fantastic. I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich and enjoyed every bite. The chicken was cook thoroughly and juicy, not tough, and the bun and fixings were excellent.

If you visit with young ones you have to make time to play at the whiffle ball field! And even without kids you'll love the outside...

I must give this place 5 stars on food!! this burger was amazing and much worth the drive. We came from California and you just can't find a burger like this in California. Parking was a bit crazy as it was limited but people do not seem to congregate here for hours on end. I had a big truck, so I was able to pull into the grass and wait for a spot (that’s probably shunned upon, but it was worth it for the burger). I called about 15 minutes prior to showing up and the guy who answered the call and took the order as great for a first-time person ordering. He broke the menu down in simple terms and told us exactly how to get the back for our buck. I simply parked and went in and had some peanuts while I waited the other 5 minutes for my burger. Note (if you are planning on this being a McDonalds 5 minute and your out, that’s not what you will get) We waited about 20 minutes in all for 4 burgers and fries, which I think was more than worth the wait. The Goods: I had a Queso and Jalapeño burger while the rest of that family had bacon cheese burgers! The meat wasn’t on the bun too long, so it was all soggy from the condiments which made it perfect. The meat was cooked perfect medium rare which made for a great bite and taste. Condiments were fresh and crisp and the OMG the queso was NUTS!!! The jalapeños had a pop to them which made the burger compete. This is not your typical burger joint. Great place to have a burger and relax and ill definitely come back to try...
