I always check reviews re a business before engaging, so that I can gather a fair perspective for expectations. There is always going to be at least one or two bad reviews just because there are those people that are NEVER happy, no matter how good the business is.
Jackie N, who rated a one star for the business, made some extreme claims re the grooming. However, she did not provide any pictures to support her claim. If an incident that horrific truly occurred, we live in a society where pictures are taken and posted. Which leads me to the conclusion that her statement is either completely untrue, or grossly exaggerated.
Phillip Stuckey, also rated the business with a one star. It seems like an incorrect price was quoted to the customer prior to service. The owner caught the mistake and confirm the correct price before completing the service. Even with the price change Phillip still agreed to continue the service scheduled, but rated the company with one star and made a claim that the business could not be trusted and that he believed that the business must not be reporting on their taxes. There is no basis for such a ludicrous claim. I don't know if the tax claim is worse or the statement claiming that the owner "threatened" to come to his house. I have never heard of such... Phillip Stuckey is clearly emotionally out of control.
All the other review were highly rated. Based off this, I did take my dog to Scruffy to Fluffy. By chance the owner, Karen Carey, was the one that groomed by dog. She was amazing and kind! I am so glad that I paid attention to the main review rates. I will only be taking my dog to Scruffy to Fluffy from now on, and I live out of town. Thank you Karen for doing such...
Read moreI dropped off my dog & told them 3 different times that I did not want my dog shaved shorter than 1-2 inches. I even drove up there 2 weeks before the actual appointment to make sure the dogs coat was cut the way I wanted it so it was not cut too short since I know how the down coat is not supposed to be cut. I also told them (even explained to the groomer) how I saw my friends dog get groomed where all the hair was shaved off completely because the groomer didn't know what they were doing & that they could not do that to my dog. I also explained that my dog is an outside dog so shaving it short wasn't an option; it needed at least 1-2 inches of hair all over the body. When I was able to pick my dog up 3 hours later, I was not able to see my dog before they charged me more money than the agreed upon amount & then they brought her out completely shaved bald to the point that I can see her skin color. The ladies up there were very rude to me & said it was my fault that I didn't brush my outside dogs thick fur everyday with a comb yet I explained multiple times exactly what I wanted for my dog. Do not use this groomer; you will regret it just like I did & nothing can be done now about my dogs coat! I literally burst into tears when I saw my dog because of how horrible her coat looks. I have never dealt with such rude & inconsiderate people in my life. My dog was also cut & I can see several areas on her body where she was bleeding because they cut her fur so short. Read moreVery poor management and untrained staff. I took my two dogs in and was told it would be an hour and a half since both would be groomed together. Drop off was at 1pm and by 4:45 I hadn’t received a call so I called in and was told they would be finishing up soon. I said I would wait for their call and politely hung up. At 5:19 I got a call saying my dogs were ready and was also informed that they close at 5. I rushed over and was told I was being charged a late fee! The groomer was the one who told me about the fee, the owner was on the phone with her and told her to charge me and explain to me that groomers don’t get paid by the hour. I argued that when I called I wasn’t told about closing time and Lily who answered the phone told me my dogs weren’t ready. Of course the rebuttal was Lily told you they’d be ready soon. So “soon” is now a time frame. For an owner to put the uncomfortable responsibility of charging a late fee on a groomer and excuse Lily’s “soon” as acceptable front desk decorum is absolutely ridiculous.
