We stole away yesterday to Grand Forks and got there early enough that we stopped in at IHop for breakie. We were seated right away and waited for the server about 15 minutes to take our drink order. Waited another 20 minutes to place our order. After 45 minutes still no food. We noticed that everyone that had placed their order at the same time we did already had their food. So the server came and said I'm going to check on your food she came back and said 3 minutes It'll be out. Well 25 minutes later it still was not out and we noticed that two tables that came in long after we did had their food. We made the decision to get up and I told the hostess at the front I would like to just pay for the coffee and we were going to leave he says let me get the manager for you. There was another young couple that had been waiting to pay for their food over half an hour they had finished eating and just wanted to leave no one never came to take their money. When the manager came he says OH your Food is just up I said no , I'm sorry but I am tired of waiting we've been here over an hour and a half, I said we were told 25 minutes ago our food was going to be right out and still no food. There's been people that have been served that came in long after we did and I just want to pay for our coffee and go. He never once offered our breakfast on the house he says come back tomorrow I'll make sure you get good service I said we don't live in town. He never tried to make it right at all. It was the absolute worst service I have ever experienced in a restaurant. IHop here in Winnipeg has amazing staff and service and I guess I expected that one too as well. Oh well will never try to eat at that one again. Other than that it was a great getaway. P.s..... we both we just so pissed we were actually jittery after. I wanted to lose my cool and be a Karen but I was nice but maybe a WEEEE bit loud ...lol
That manager and some of the staff should get fired. The reason the service is very poor is because of him. Starts...
Read moreI showed up to this location around 10:15pm on August 18th, 2017. I sat down, waiting to be seated and never was. I waited 20mins. In that 20 mins 2 parties had been seated by Ashley G, and I had not been acknowledged.
After that initial 20mins, I sat in the front waiting area and called there to-go line, and made my order. I went to my car to wait for the 20mins it was said to take for my food to be done. When I walked back inside, I again sat down to be acknowledged.
While I was waiting to get my food and pay, a group of six walked in and was seated by Ashley G within 5mins of arriving. Another couple came in and was seated, again by Ashley G, right after the party of 6. Still I had not been acknowledged.
It took about 15mins from the time I came back inside, and two parties paying at the front counter for their tickets, to finally be asked if I had been helped. I then paid, without getting a receipt, and was told to wait while she went to get my food. It took an hour-from the minite I walked through the door the first time, till my food was done- for Ashley G to acknowledge me, and by that point I had been taken care of by someone else and paid for my food. She then went to get my food. Upon learning that I had already paid, she took my food back to the kitchen. That was another 5mins from the time I paid to when Ashley G brought my food out, but a few more minutes until the other waitress, whose name I dont know brought my food out. When I checked my bag in the car, I discovered that there wasn't any syrup for my french toast. When I went back inside to get some strawberry syrup I was given a tiny container for a full order of French toast.
Overall there was poor customer service, as I had to wait just over an hour to be helped. The food was also subpar: the crepes I had ordered were undercooked, as well as the...
Read moreWent in for a quick meal. The waitress (short, pretty girl with a blonde ponytail who is a real POS) seemed inconvenienced that I was even there. I ordered and ate. Prior to finishing my meal the waitress came over and asked me if I was ready to pay. I said sure, but was confused, because why couldn't she have just brought the check over? So, she comes back and just looks at me as I take my last bite and she then said: "I thought you were ready to pay?" She then walked away and I went to the bathroom. Went back to my table and sat down. She came back a few minutes later and took my card and then walked away. She came back and set my card down on the other side of the table. She then handed me the tablet to sign my signature. I then said: "You don't bring the check over anymore and then come and get the customer's card after they've set it on the table?" She said: "We don't do it like that anymore." She then walked away and sat down with some guy on the other side of the restaurant. They just smiled (the guy was concealing his laughter) at me. I called to speak with a manager after I left. Guess who answered? That waitress. She told me that there were no managers on duty and that she didn't know when another one would be in. Seriously? I then called the corporate office and spoke to a really cool Guest Relations Specialist. I won't be back, which is unfortunate because the other waiters are typically pretty good.
Update - the manager contacted me to apologize, but his response was pretty robotic. Probably reading from a script. These...
