Tequila's Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Grand Junction

We were sat quickly which was great because they were very busy. Chips and salsa were immediately brought to our table and later our waiter took our drink order. He was prompt with returning and a few minutes later we ordered our food. We then continued to sit for an hour when we were starting to get restless. He noticed and came to reassure us that our food was coming, which at the point the kids were already ready to go home. A few moments later he finally arrived with our food. The plates were extremely hot, but the food was however cold. The sauce was completely dried on our enchiladas, aswell as the beans and rice being very dry. The carne asada on my daughters plate was burnt aswell as the sauce being dry and stuck to the plate also. Ive never returned food before and pride myself on that. However after trying a couple bites I realized I couldn't possibly eat it or make my children eat it either. We sat and waited for the waiter and he asked if we would like any boxes. I politely explained to him the issues and asked if we could just have our check and I'd gladly pay for our beverages however I didnt feel it was fair to pay for food we couldn't even consume (our plates were completely full). His attitude immediately changed and said I needed to talk to a manager which I felt was fair. He finally came back and said fine just pay for the drinks. He seemed angry as he started clearing our plates and I apologized and gave him my card. He then went to the register to check us out obviously still very annoyed with us and began talking about us to coworkers as they also started starring at us aswell. At this point I'm uncomfortable, annoyed, and have completely lost my appetite. I tipped him and we left. Tequilas near the mall.. If I could give 0 stars I would! Horrible expensive food, horrible service, and management is awful. We arrived, sat on the patio took 15 mins for drinks, no chips and salsa was brought. Food took nearly 45 minutes and was completely wrong. Was told we were not allowed to split a ticket between 8 people and use 2 gift certificates. When we were 2 separate family’s, and the server asked the manager and she said no as well... Asked to talk to the manager 3 times... per our server first time she was on the phone, second in the kitchen.. 3rd time (probably at least 45 minutes since I’d asked the first time) the server told ME to go find her inside!! The manager came out, told us she couldn’t do anything because she was only the manager, and not the owner... We paid for food that was terrible, food that was rung in incorrectly but still forced to pay for. Had to go inside to ask for salt pepper, silverware to . When I finally walked out with the manager and BROUGHT HER TO MY TABLE, the manager and the server were talking about us right in front of us while the server was rolling her eyes all in Spanish! After a trip that took almost 2 hours we paid $74 and left, and yes we left tip... I didn’t have the heart to not leave a tip but we shouldn’t have had to pay ONE penny! Been here for for about an hour and half. My husband and I decided to come in, shared a fishbowl marg, nachos and sopapillas over time. We enjoyed our food and drink and we ordered a second fishbowl marg … we’re sitting here relaxing, drinking, eating our chips and salsa and the waitress came up and asked if we needed anything else..:we were 1/2 way through the second fishbowl and the server (that wasn’t our server btw) came up and asked if we needed anything else. I said I’d like some more cabbage to eat with out chips and she said well if you’re not going to order we have people waiting for tables. DONE!!! Went to our ACTUAL server and tipped him out and I told him idk if we will be back. Our tab was almost $90 at that point! We would have stayed and ordered more but the server that wasn’t our server made us feel unimportant and we left! Usually get GREAT service and not money hungry servers that are willing to disrespect good customers that come in at LEAST once a week! Not sure we...
