Aaah! Wing Stop, in my mind I was choosing another fried chicken place that will surpass KFC ,and Popeyes , but I was not to be this way and I will tell you why. If you are used to KFC, Popeyes or even Churches chicken , you will know immediately who would you pick as the best, in the categories of flavor, looks, well cooked chicken and price for example Popeyes has a $6.00 big box, two pieces of delicious fried chicken with two sides. The soda is extra but, if you are already happy with your meal you will not mind paying for a soda or you may choose water which is free, you will love your choice of restaurant for a next time to choose a nice inexpensive meal that will leave you satisfied. I am sorry to say that Churches chicken moved out of our city, but if you remember the great taste of chicken you can compare in your mind how great it used to taste , KFC is another inexpensive choice for fried chicken, KFC used to be the best of the fried chicken restaurant and guess what it still is ,you can go not wrong choosing them again, with the guarantee that you will get some delicious fried chicken, now we have another team in the mix and it's called Wingstop, I had the opportunity to tried this FF restaurant and I will tell you about it, the place is located in North Avenue very visible from the avenue. I went to the counter and studied the menu and decided to purchase a 20 wing combo that included French fries and a drink of your choice. Well to begin with the chicken choice of flavors, the restaurant gives you the choice of flavor for the chicken , there are a few flavors to choose from, about 10 at least , the problem with this is that the flavor is only on top of the wings, the inside of the wings is non flavor not even salt flavor needless to say I did no fully enjoy my wings, I ended up putting some salt to give the inside of the wings some flavor, so now you know what to expect when you go to this restaurant. The side of French fries were ok nice and tasty, For drinks I choose root beer one of my favorite sodas which was good. The prices were a little higher than let's say Popeyes where you can have a nice big box lunch for $6 bucks my lunch cost me $18.49 , three times more than Popeyes and double the KFC nice dinner for$12.00 the difference is in the flavor KFC takes the top spot follows by Popeyes Louisiana Chicken takes the second place, and for now Wingstop takes the third place, but this only I have not check on other places, so for now that's the ranking for the best fried chicken in town, but this can change as I do find other fried chicken place. I give 3 stars over all plus 2 1/2 for the food based on the flavors. 3 on service, the reason why is because I ordered 20 wings and when I got home I discovered that I only had 10 wings, I call them and informed them that I have ordered 20 wings and that I had only 10, their response was I have ordered a combo choice that had 10 wings, I clarify to the person on the phone that I wanted 20 wings for my family of three adults, no matter if they can make it two orders, I live to far to go and pickup 10 more wings, so people if you dine in check that what you order is ok , or if you take it to go, inspect the contents to check if you have what you order. The atmosphere was very quiet, with two TVs with sports channels on them. I will give this business another day, hoping that things have improved. And another thing is that this is my first time at this place and the opinion is only mine, you are welcome to try it yourself to have your own opinion on this restaurant. On a rating from 1 to 10 I will give this restaurant a 6.in the future my rating may change or go up in my opinion...
Read moreOkay so I wanna preface this with saying, I have never had WINGSTOP before, this was my first time ever eating here. Okay anyway, I placed mobile order and I came into the store when it said it was supposed to be done. When I got into the store it was jam packed, there was many lines that wasn’t really organized. It felt like everyone was yelling. While I was standing in line to pick up my mobile order, many other customers kept bumping into me or just standing wayyy to close for comfort. Which none of that is the workers fault of course, it just made me a lil uncomfortable, plus I just thought it was with mentioning. So I wait for 15 minutes+++ and one of the workers starts to yell each mobile order bag that has just been sitting on a shelf on the edge of the kitchen area and as she’s yelling names, my name was called second and then 4ish other names were called so, I walk to the front to grab my order and these 2 other customers (that was standing so close to me, I’m talking inches, when there was some room for them to move) these 2 women just start talking very loudly and cut me in line and get their orders. Of course idk what situation they were in but wow, the people that frequent wingstop seem a little crazy for it.
Anyway the actual food! I ordered a 10 piece wing and got 5 Hawaiian flavor, and 5 bbq. They were decently good, however the bbq wings I ordered were like halfway covered in sauce, idk if that’s normal but that’s what I got. I also got a voodoo fries and they were pretty soggy but again idk if that’s normal for this place it was just not what I was expecting. I also got a drink and they have a little self serve soda fountain and more than half of the soda options were broken. I told one of the girls working there and she was very kind about it.
I’m not really upset at all about the food or service. I’m just a little uncomfortable with the customers that were there. So if you plan to go there just know that there’s probably some odd...
Read morePut in an order at 7:30, said it would be ready at 8:45.... That's a long time, but okay? So we get there at 8:45 to about 30 other people waiting (not eating) in the lobby. I check at the register about my pickup and the worker just says "not yet" and shakes his head. We go sit down and wait... For another hour before our order is finally called.
Having sat in there for an hour observing, I can tell it's extremely inefficient. They'd only work on a single order at a time which looked like 1. Get all the chicken done first and packed 2. Asked fry dude to drop some fries 3. Stand around and wait for the fries 4. Start the next order when fries were done and packed. With 30 people waiting for their orders, just keep dropping fries and chicken... One order at a time with that many people waiting is insane.
Luckily we didn't have anything to do that nice so waiting was more just inconvenient than anything but whatever.
The taste also wasn't anything spectacular. The ranch is the only redeeming quality of Wingstop. I tried original hot, lemon pepper, garlic Parmesan and Korean BBQ. The original hot is just Frank's hot sauce. Lemon pepper tasted very sweet like lemon frosting you'd find on a cookie - maybe they left out the pepper? Garlic Parmesan was good but just basically turned to butter by the time we got home. Korean BBQ was great but the wings were way over sauced, which I never normally complain about, but that side was VERY strong :P
Unfortunately, I want to leave a better review and maybe I'll change it in the future. But how it stands right now, this location is terribly inefficient and the only positive experience I had was the in...
