I recently took my family to Simply Asia for dinner last Friday evening. I have been wanting to try this place for quite some time and finally had the opportunity. The food quality did not disappoint and the promptness of the service was excellent as well. To start off with we had the Jalapeno bombs and they were exactly that...THE BOMB! Then we continued on with a couple of servings of sushi.. Spicy California rolls and the Lone Star rolls.... two totally different ends of the spectrum when it comes to Sushi but both were delicious! Just to mention this restaurant provides a large selection of sushi for you to try. I tried some of the curry fried rice and it was very pleasant but my favorite was my entree, Wok on Fire which is pictured above without the rice that comes with it. It was a nice, dimly lit and cozy environment. Don't get me wrong but I want to say that this location is BYOB also. However, the reason that I am only giving this restaurant four stars instead of 5 is due to the fact that it seemed as if we were being rushed to finish our meal and leave so the staff could close. To give them the benefit of the doubt, they do close at 10 p.m. on Friday evenings and we got there after 9 p.m. However I've always felt that as a paying customer, if I showed up in time to be served a meal I should be able to finish my meal unrushed. Other than that unfortunate detail I would definitely revisit...

BIG THINGS come in small packages and you will absolutely LOVE this little gem of a place! Like all of us, we're in a quarantine and very cautious. This place was very clean and precautions were obviously taken for COVID which made me feel comfortable taking out food. The gentleman on the phone was the same gentleman I spoke to at the register and he was VERY pleasant!

Now on to the GOODS!

THE FOOD... OMG 😍 the food is AMAZING! You can't go wrong! My husband ordered the Chef's Special fried rice called the Hawaiian Fried Rice with combination meat and it came with pork, beef, chicken AND shrimp. It had pineapples and raisins in it which I thought was peculiar at first but YOU HAVE GOT TO TRY IT! After first taste I immediately changed my whole mindset and now believe pineapples and raisins ABSOLUTELY belong in fried rice! OMG mind BLOWN 🤯

Now I ordered the Thai Coconut Soup and a California Sushi Roll. Let me tell you, it was delightful! If you're looking for something different to try, this soup is ABSOLUTELY comforting. I ate it with shrimp and was immediately transported back to my childhood in my aunts house. The sushi was delish as well and paired nicely with the soup.

I am convinced that everything on the menu is probably bomb so go up here, try something new and leave smiling this quarantine...

The food is FANTASTIC. I highly recommend the tempura appetizer, and their lo mein and fried rice are both excellent. I always end up spending way too much money every single time, I say $40 will be my limit but I spend about $80 including tip😬 The fried items are always crispy, even with takeout, and it isn’t too heavy or greasy to where you feel yucky after eating it, it’s on the lighter side thankfully. Their sushi isn’t bad! Some places you don’t want to try the sushi, but it’s totally fine here, I always get 2 eel rolls with whatever else I order. You can always test if you like the sushi by getting a California roll of course. The owner is a very nice guy, seeing him there and saying hi is a part of the experience, and the receptionist/waitress I always see is a very accommodating and sweet. I’ve been going there for about 6 years now, consistently excellent food...

My mom and stepfather took me out for Thai never having been to any Thai restaurants around the South Dallas area so we went to Simply Asia. The food was flavorful, but lacked spice. The waitress never asked if we wanted it spicy or mild. When going out for Thai food we are used to being asked how spicy we like it, or given a number scale that gauges our spice preferences. I had Tom Kha and the Seafood Salad. The soup seemed to be watered down and the seafood was overcooked just enough that it was a little tough and chewy. I was also surprised that the salad came with iceberg lettuce. I asked about having Spring Mix instead and that was not even so.ething they offered. To say the least, we were not impressed.

Purchased the Angel Roll and Marylin Mon Roll. Both rolls were $17.95 rolls. The flavor was good, however the quantity recieved for the price was ridiculous. If you are ok with paying a high price for the taste then this is good. I personally have eaten the same quality at may different locations around the USA with nearly twice the quantity. We also ordered large eggdrop soup and wonton soup, which come with fried noodles. The amount of noodles provided filled, maybe a quarter of the bag. Again, significantly less than most resterants provide with their soups. This is the second and last time we will eat here, if they do not adjust the quantity served at that $17.95 price.
