So this has got to be one of the weirdest and worst Customer Service experiences I have ever had.
Today, Starbucks offered BOGO between 12 PM to 6 PM.
I ordered through the app thinking that this would automatically apply. I was wrong!
I picked up my drinks and asked the barista if they could help me figure out why this didn't go through.
Apparently, you have to click on the offers link and order through that, but the fine print stated to "Ask the barista." I just did.
The barista's solution to my problem was to inform me to come back later and BUY ANOTHER DRINK between now and 6 PM. It was about 12:30 PM. So I I buy one more drink and get that free I had to BUY 3 DRINKS to get ONE free. She continued to tell me that this was "another option to solve my problem." Mathematically, this makes no sense to me.
I was provided with the Starbucks Customer Service number. I called and waited on hold for more than 30 minutes. When I finally did get to speak to the customer service rep his solution was to offer me 100 Stars in my Starbucks Rewards app for my inconvenience. This doesn't cover the cost of a handcrafted drink. So he stated, "was going to do this for me" and give me 200 Stars, but will take 24 hours to appear in my account. The 200 stars will get me a free drink!
All I wanted was the BOGO that Starbucks was offering. It was confusing as heck to order through the app and try to redeem that offer. It was worse that the solution to my problem was to buy another drink and then be told Starbucks was doing me a favor when I called customer service.
This could have been solved so much easier. For example, give me a gift card for the equivalent of my cheaper drink. Or just give me the 200 stars in the...
Read moreI'm a Starbucks fan. I've had nothing but a great experience at our new Starbucks in town prior to today. I was told that due to a lack of staff the doors were locked so I walked around to the drive up window where I was told that for their safety I could not be served without 4,000 lbs of metal burning gas surrounding me. Rather than pour me a cup of coffee I was politely sent away. Fear rules our world, even at the local coffee shop....
Read moreThis Starbucks is located inside the Grand Rapids Target store. The staff are friendly and service oriented. On one occasion recently, I wasn't completely satisfied with my drink. When I told them this, they happily remade the drink to my satisfaction. Lately it's harder and harder to find businesses that put customers first. Although this is just a single anecdote, it seems to suggest that this location has the...
