Just had one of the worst fast food drive through experiences at a #MeritageHospitalityGroup #Wendys restaurant on 28th & Breton. I simply asked for two (2) Ultimate Grill Chicken sandwiches only. They gave me the total and I paid at the first window. It was after 8:00 pm (the receipt said 19:11 I assume the time stamp is an hour off as I was at work until 19:35). When I pulled up to the 2nd window the employee seemed confused on my order and asked what I ordered. I replied "Two Ultimate Grill Chicken sandwiches. It's listed as #9 on your board, but I only want the sandwiches." She turned back into the restaurant and appeared to be looking at a monitor and then also talked with a man who may have been the manager. Then the female employee walked back and forth for a bit before coming back to the window and said there had been a screw up on the order and could I pull to the side and they would bring it out in about 8 minutes. Well I waited until 8:30 pm and still no order coming out. So I got out of my vehicle to go into the building but the side door I went to was locked an no sign as to why. I was about to walk around the building to the other door and some people said "Don't bother that door is locked also." So I stood opposite the drive thru window while a car was at the window. As the male employee (manager?) was giving the driver her order he said the order had just been finished and would be out shortly. Finally the male employee brought out my food at 8:35 with only "I'm sorry" no offer to make anything else right. so I waited over 20 minutes for two Ultimate Grill Chicken sandwiches. Read moreCashier literally only opened the window wide enough to stick her hand out, take our card, then hand it back. It's cold out, I get it, but looking back, I'm not even sure she said hello, thank you, or bye; just the total amount. Whatever, no biggie. The hostess, however, was the biggest offender today. She didn't inform me that there were three versions of the sandwich I wanted, and so ultimately gave me the wrong order. I wasn't aware there was a grilled, homestyle, or spicy version of the chicken sandwich I ordered, and so she just decided to give me grilled, which I didn't want. The photo on the menu was of a crispy sandwich, so I assumed that was the default. I can take partial blame for not knowing, and thereby making an uninformed mistake, but I am frustrated that she didn't bother to voice these options or ask what I wanted. Not only that, but ultimately I was given a wholly different dessert item altogether. Upon looking at my receipt, I can only guess that they were out of the item I ordered, and so gave me a discount, but added on an supplemental item. She didn't ask me if I wanted this alternative item, or that she was switching it out; I guess she just hoped I wouldn't notice until I was already gone. Well, it worked.
Ultimately, I'll probably give them another try. I've ordered from this Wendy's before, but through Doordash the past few times, and they've always gotten my orders correct. But I will not deny my frustration at the lack of communication and deception that went on with my order...

Walked into the restaurant and wasn't greeted. Several people behind the counter just looked at me as if I were green and had 4 eyes. I waited several minutes before someone came to the counter to take my order. At least one of them who made eye contact could've easily said "We'll be with you in a minute" instead of just staring at me as they walked past.
I ordered a single hamburger with extra tomato. Again, I got this burger with cheese and only 1 tomato. If I had wanted cheese I would've asked for a cheeseburger, not a hamburger. The french fries were fresh, but the server pulled them out of the fryer before they were completely done and then put so much salt on them I think I'll have to see the doc about blood pressure meds. Yikes!
And the worst of it...I absolutely hate when an employee at a restaurant handles my money and then heads to the food area to serve up food without washing their hands. Just GROSS.
Truthfully I"m not even sure why I'm doling out 2 stars. Maybe I'm being nostalgic for how Wendy's was years ago.
