After a long day at the Farmers Market in Overland Park, we decided to come and give Ranch Cafe a try. When we arrived, we were met by the friendliest faces, the owner and staff. We were seated and were taking our orders. By the way, they serve breakfast all day. I ordered a plate of bacon, scrambled eggs, hash browns, and toast. All this for $6.70. I got a nice serving of eggs, 4 toast halves, hash browns, and 4 bacon. It was more than enough to satisfy me. The other 2 guys each ordered a full plate of biscuits uits and gravy with sausage. They told me they loved it but couldn't handle the huge serving. Yes, the servings were very generous. The service was awesome! It's not the service that treats you as if you were just a number. Our waitress really cared! She came around enough to refill our glasses, but she also asked if we needed anything else. And she didn't come around too often and interrupt our meals. Everything about the service and timing with our waitress was perfect. The establishment was clean. The atmosphere was homely. We had an exceptional time here. As we got ready to leave, the owner came and asked us about the food and service. It was apparent that she cared. When we were addressed by the owner or the staff, it felt more family-like than business-like. I must say that this is now my favorite eating place. I did look and study their menu. They have many choices to order from. Will I be back? Absolutely! Can't wait to try out some of their other menu items! One other thing; they gave us a drink to go as we got ready to complete the last 90 minutes of our drive. And before I forget, Google Maps shows an x on dine in, which means they do not offer dine-in. They DO have dine-in. Please try this place! You...
Read moreShould be zero stars! I found a long hair in my food today at this restaurant and all they could do is take the cost of the meal off the bill. The manager or owner couldn’t come out to apologize, he felt it was ok for the waitress to apologize and he wouldn’t come out of the kitchen . When I went to speak to him he said he wasn’t going to come out because he left that to the waitress and he didn’t feel he needed to and didn’t care if we came back or not , very poor service and poor management decision …
I wonder, could it be because I’m just some normal looking Hispanic man in his restaurant?
Steer clear if you think this would be a good restaurant to eat at where the managers take responsibility and ownership...
Read moreThis is a mom and pop breakfast/ lunch restaurant. I have mixed reviews for this one. Some days everything is great. Food, waitress, the service over all. then there are days the waitress is not attentive or talks to much or even pours coffee literally as she still moving and spills it on my husbands hand. I think one, it depends where you set to get a good waitress. And I recommend Not sitting at the counter unless you want to be talked over as one patron talking on one side of you is talking to another patron on the other side of you. The food is reasonable, the food overall is good. the clientele are 50 and over generally, which is ok. The decor is very very dated. But...
