Grandview, Missouri DQ. Sunday, August 1, 2021 8:55pm. Pulled into the drive-thru, there was one car ahead of us at the speaker. And approximately four cars waiting to get to the window. The menu board was completely dark and it was sunset so it was very difficult to see. I started to wonder if they closed at 9:00. A voice came over the speaker and asked to take our order. I asked if the menu board is working because it's dark. She replied, it is off because we are about to close but I will send someone out there to turn it on for you. A young man came outside and turned it on. I proceeded to order a peanut buster parfait and a chocolate brownie blizzard. I was told that we are not allowed to order anything that has to be blended. I took a pause to think to myself, why would this be. She did not offer any explanation. So I asked, is it because you've already cleaned the machine and don't want to get it dirty again since you re about to close? she replied no, it's just our machine. So we ordered something different a Sundae style brownie something or other with ice cream. While sitting in the Drive-Thru we watched the worker at the window drop someone's order as they were handing it to the car. Seem like every car in front of us had some type of issue. When we got our order the brownie sundae, it was dripping down the side of the cup from underneath the dome. The worker didn't not care to try to clean it up herself but just handed it to me. And I then had to ask for napkins to wipe the overspill from the side of the cup. We waited at the window for our spoons as she disappeared from you. We were entertained by loud dance party music blaring inside the store. She returned to the window looking puzzled why we were still there. I told her we needed spoons. She handed three spoons out the window one of them dropped to the ground, thankfully we only needed the two. while sitting in the Drive-Thru we noticed more cars coming in behind us and their orders were being taken. Curious we Google search what time the store closes on Sunday. We were surprised to find that it was actually open until 10:00 p.m., yet the menu board was turned off at 8:55 p.m. in preparation to close. Read moreIf I could give this a zero star I would. My friends and I all walked into the new Dairy Queen in Grandview in hopes of having something refreshing. We all three had worked at the one in Raymore when we were younger. We walked through the doors excited to have some food and ice cream at around 9:20 PM and they were fairly busy so we didn’t feel bad about wanting to eat there knowing they closed at 10 PM, we all agreed we would eat in 10 minutes and leave. Well I was wrong. I get to the register and no one acknowledges us which is fine you know they’re busy with the drive thru. Finally a young lady comes to the register and does not talk to us, I say “Hello how are you doing?” And she says “Ready to go home.” And then tells me that she can’t take my order yet. When she finally tells me she is ready she says “is this to go?” And I replied with “Actually we are going to eat here.” Then she remarks under her breath with “You’re crazy.” Then I reply “you know what never mind I’m leaving since I’ve caused an inconvenience.” The cook in the back rolled his eyes at us and was making faces as well. Like how do you keep an employee that has an attitude this poorly towards a customer. I’ve been in her position, I worked the front line, kitchen, and management at the Raymore Dairy Queen and have never once not been able to treat people with respect. Read moreBare with me this is kind of long. We pulled into the drive thru at 10:45pm the person in front of us took a really long time to order. We knew we were cutting it close and thought we may not be served. So she finally moved forward at 10:54pm we ordered within a minute they took our order we pulled forward and waited. I was excited I’m pregnant and was craving a dipped cone so bad and my daughters were wanting their strawberry banana shake! Anyways, the people before us finally got their order at 11:08pm they were given like 6 bags and 2 ice creams. So we pull forward to pay for our order. We are THEN told that they are closed and that ALL their machines had been turned off! I’m sorry but this is just TERRIBLE customer service! Especially after the people in front of us ALREADY got ice cream! How are they going to make us wait 20 minutes only to tell us that they are closed AFTER they took our order? This is not the first time this happens. This is however the first time they take our order make us wait for it THEN tell us they are closed! Please address this because I truly doubt this is the first time they have done this at this location.
