My husband and I had a two hour layover so (as a self proclaimed coffee enthusiast (addict) would), I decided to google "what is the best coffee at the Dallas airport?" There was an article written about this local coffee shop that had "beat out” Starbucks so I knew I had to try it.
It was a couple terminals away, so I had to take the Skylink train to it and I did a lot of walking, but it was SOOO worth it. If you have a long layover, I highly recommend making the walk/ride to Ampersand Coffee.
Upon arrival, I expressed to the barista that I couldn't decide between a cold brew and a shot of espresso. I really wanted to try both. So she said if I would order the cold brew, she would give me the shots of espresso - just so I could try it. (SO KIND)
Their espresso may have been some of the best espresso I ever had. (I’ve had LOTS of espresso). The flavor was balanced, mouth filling and smooth. There was a delightful acidity to it, and sweet and chocolatey undertones.
The customer service was also amazing! The team went above and beyond to make me feel welcome and connect with me in my love for the coffee industry. We chatted about coffee and their beautiful new La Marzocco espresso machine and their espresso blend. Their welcoming hospitality was way above my expectations!
Dear owner, Great job! Keep hiring staff that cares! Be proud of your team and never stop appreciating them!

If you have a bib, a real (metal) fork and knife, a plate rather than a deep box, you might have a decent meal at Ampersand. As it was, the "sandwich" was deep in the box, impossible to hold in the hand, and required 5 napkins to not embarass myself while trying to saw the "sandwich" in pieces with functionally rubber tableware. Good food is important but also relatively easy to eat, especially in an airport where time is often short. Ampersand had passable food but enduring the mess was not worth even the best cuisine. Don't waste your time at this restaurant. It was an...

SERVICE Timely & kind III. QUALITY The interior is well designed for a location within an airport ~ quite impressive and an escape from the surrounding environment. The iced drinks, however, held barely any content for the standard steep airport prices, knocking my review down from 5 to 4 stars. Our vietnamese iced coffee and cold brew were mainly just ice. Aside from that, the flavor was phenomenal! IV. CAPACITY There's a line in the morning (of course) but they're so efficient the line...
