about noon 2/11/24 Just wanted to let everyone know about the absolutely awful experience my father and I just had at the McAlister's Deli in terminal B. My mom loves McAlister's deli, we used to go to the local one all the time, and it was close to my gate, so that's why we chose it. We walked up to the girl running the register (younger, tan skin, long dark frizzy curly hair, glasses) and I had asked her if they have the normal choose 2 combo, because I didn't have my glasses and I couldn't see the menu board very well. She just points at the menu with a dead expression, doesn't say anything, so I just have to assume it's up there. Whatever. Then when my dad goes to get his drink, which mind you the cups are on the REGISTER side and are CLEAR, he asks where are the cups and she just points again. Id already moved to the line, I'm watching my 60 year old father running around frantically looking for where she's pointing, that's when I get upset. You can do whatever with me to a certain extent, but do not disrespect my dad. It would have been so easy to just pick up the cup in front of her and hand it to him, but she was so lazy she instead made my dad look like a fool. I had just flown in from my grandmother, his mother, dying YESTERDAY. Last thing we need is to be treated like we're nothing. THEN, after I mentioned to my dad it was rude of her to do that, I guess she overheard me and started talking really loudly to the cook (mixed with a shorter afro), who was just laughing with her and agreeing, about how she "doesn't care if people complain". Word for word. She also made fun of the fact that apparently, her manager already had told her she needed to be more friendly with guests, and smile. I had to get an early flight because I'm about to go into work myself, I'm a waitress. My grandma just passed away, but I'm still going in with a smile on my face, making sure my guests are taken care of. She could learn to do the same. For anyone wondering what am I doing going to work so soon after a death in the family, I go to school AND work full time, it's just me- I don't have a choice. The ONLY time I saw this girl smile was when she was flirting with the cook and, I'm sorry, I will try to say this as discretely as possible- all I'm going to say is, she needs to invest in a thicker bra. I don't care outside of work, but I think everyone can agree that in the workplace is a place where we should dress professionally. For the cherry on top of everything, the syrup for the Coke needed to be changed, but I knew better by that point than to ask her for any help.
If you're looking for a quick little something for lunch, I would advise elsewhere, spent $40 on food for TWO people, and just to be treated poorly. Ridiculous.
Management, y'all seriously need to look into retraining the staff, if not starting over from scratch all together. Would have given zero stars...
Read moreWe walked all around the gate and didn't see anything else that was appealing, so we stopped here. The menu is awful to read; the names of the items are OK, but you have to get close to read the descriptions. I asked what the differences were between two sandwiches that looked like they could be similar and was told, "They're completely different." Alright, then. My husband asked if the French dip or another sandwich was better and was told the FD. We both got that. Mine had a side of potato salad. His had a side of jalapeño kettle chips.
FD was really good. We both liked it. The au jus was very hot to hold but was just right for dipping. They wrapped the au jus in plastic wrap before putting it in the bag.
Potato salad was great. Slightly sweet.
Jalapeño chips weren't very hot, but neither of us are big jalapeño eaters, so we had leftovers.
They also came with a pickle spear. Average. Nice crunch. No seasoning.
There's no seating at the deli, but it's right in front of a gate with a lot of seating and there are other restaurants (e.g., golden arches) nearby to cop a squat.
Would recommend. I gave 3 stars for atmosphere because you can't really have atmosphere at a deli stand. Otherwise...
Read moreI had a layover in DFW after traveling emergently across the country to say goodbye to my grandmother as she passed away. I have a gluten allergy and get incredibly sick if I eat it. Typically, McAllister’s has gluten free bread. I was waiting behind a few customers in line and the employee back in the kitchen yelled at me saying “hey you in the green sweatshirt, do you know what you want?” I knew we were in an airport and sometimes they don’t have what the regular locations do. So I said “yes, but do you have gluten free bread?” She yelled back and said “NO, IT DOESNT SAY WE HAVE GLUTEN FREE BREAD SO WE DONT.” She was incredibly rude and sounded quite annoyed with her response. I believe we should be kind to everyone, because we never know what they are going through. I hope that employee sees this review and is reminded that sometimes people are in the airport traveling home after watching their loved ones pass away. Everyone needs a little grace, please be kind becuase you never know how your annoyed response might impact...
