Admirals Club (Terminal D) — Local services in Grapevine

Hostile agents upstairs messed up my reservation. I am Alaska Gold 100K, lounge+ member, and One World Emerald. I asked for help with a same day flight change to a half empty flight to Houston. The agents said they don't help Alaska elites, even if I pay lounge membership. They instead demanded my AA number and put me on standby. Putting me on standby moved me down from Group 2 to Group 6, and kept me off the First Class upgrade list. The gate agent and American phone agents said what the lounge agents did was wrong. Those two lounge agents kept monologuing and yelling at me, even while I was trying to escape from them down the elevator. They both give American a bad name. I don't pay $800 lounge membership to be lied to and verbally harassed and...

Denied access to Active Duty (on anniversary of Sep 11th at that) when lounge was not at full capacity. Said that Active Duty service members don't have access to any Admirals Clubs at any airport, which is contrary to their website and inconsistent with the fact that I accessed Admirals Clubs at two other airports the same day and on many other occassions. Also, the attendant wouldn't let me just say thank you and leave. He proceeded to try to mansplain, monologue, and hold up the line, just as he did to the mom with two kids in front of me. Poor service, no respect. Maybe I caught the wrong guy on the wrong day, but disappointing at best, especially after an otherwise smooth long day of...

Great place to relax before a flight but DON'T eat the "hot" or "cold" food here...or any of the Admiral's Clubs for that matter. The food is not kept at proper holding temperatures(not even remotely close)and when questioned, the staff is absolutely clueless. It's quite obvious that these places are never inspected by a legit health department and guarantee not one food handler is ServSafe certified. Any normal restaurant would be shut down immediately. Realistically, with their set-up and untrained staff, they should only be serving prepackaged dry goods. Anyway, outside of the food, a great place to relax...thus the...
