FYI This is a review during BREAKFAST hours.
There was a wait, so we waited about 10 minutes to be seated, which wasn't an issue since we have a 3 hour layover. The hostess, Mikaela, was very kind. She walked us to our table and even pulled out our chairs for us. 😊 Once seated, we were greeted by Daniel, who mentioned he was helping our server, Victoria. He took our drink orders and brought us the water and she came out with our mimosas, then took our order. Good transition. 👍🏼
I ordered the Pappasito Breakfast Platter and my husband got the breakfast combo. My plate consisted of potatoes, egg, and a sausage with flour tortillas. His was the same, except he substituted the sausage for bacon and it included pancakes for the same price- $15.99.
I'm not a very picky eater, but I obviously prefer some good food... this was not good. The egg was liquidy (powdered eggs?) and just slightly warm, so it was cold in minutes. The texture was just not enjoyable. The potatoes were okay and the sausage had way too much pepper. I gave my husband a piece and he flat out didn't like it. The tortillas are bland, probably store bought. I've gone to other locations outside of this airport and the food was decent; breakfast is NOT recommended here.
We paid our tab then had a seat for another round at the bar since we had time. When I glanced over at the check while my husband filled it out, $23.90 for two mimosas... 🤨 Wow. He said "it's an airport," but I've been traveling for over a decade and there are MANY places that charge less than $10 for a mimosa.. I have them all the time.
Overall, service and staff is GREAT, but the negatives overpower the good service.. Also, what is up with all the gnats?!?! We had about two around our table, then, at the bar, there were way more. One of the girls said it was because of the tap. Umm, that does NOT make the tap...
Read moreThe reviews let me down - or maybe it was just the food. Despite the recommendation to try the quesadilla, per the counter staff, I saw the picture of the fish tacos and thought, “those look tasty!” Unfortunately, looks can be deceiving. They were far from it. Having eaten the best fish tacos in the world, at Zia Taqueria in Durango Colorado, I probably have too high expectations. The presentation was nice and I was excited to dive in and devour my tacos, rice and beans. The first bite, however, curbed my enthusiasm. The flavor was not good and the tacos were dry and had zero zing or zip. Whatever the “special sauce” is, it’s not good. The rice and beans were decent (it’s hard to mess those up). I also ordered chips and queso. The chips were probably the best part of the meal - warm and crispy with good flavor. Skip the queso. I’m pretty sure it’s from the Sysco number 10 can garnished with tomatoes and onions. Overall, for $35 I was pretty disappointed! On the bright side, the counter staff was wonderful, attentive...
Read moreI never could have imagined the day when Taco Bell tasted better. The $17 chicken burrito tasted like crow or boiled chicken. The only flavoring reminded me of my 80 y/o Father’s cooking that included 1 cup of salt added to each meal. It was hands down the worst burrito I’ve ever eaten. My wife had the soup and my Father struck again. This might sound like agism but seniors tend to like way too much salt. I’m 50 and I still thought this surpassed a typical meal and I overdosed in on my weekly salt intake in 10 minutes here. Good thing they were fast! Like 5 minutes fast. It’s as if it was waiting for me their last week. Wait staff quick and helpful! If it weren’t for them it would be 1 star. I would have given them an extra star but they didn’t warn me of how bad the food was. Taco Salsa was also no bueno! I guess someone poured the whole canister of salt in the salsa. You know it’s a lot of salt when you try and stop yourself from coughing after...
