While the service was good and the coffee was what was expected, there were some glaring oddities the put me off about this coffee shop. I'll note what I liked first. The music was on but not overly loud or weird. Burista shook each drink that was iced which is the best way to go. The shop was very clean. Great baked goods that seemed local and not mass produced. Now the improvement... The price for an iced coffee and iced mocha coming in at nearly $10 is a bit out of control. Second, the burista would make drinks then once the line was gone she would proceed to sit in the only plush arm chair in the dining area and read on her phone and do her own thing. I've never seen someone working at a coffee shop do that. When people would come in or when I later got up to order again, it seemed like an imposition to purchase something else. This could come down to professionalism and how growing up in a business, you'd be fired if you did that. Third, the wifi password should be prominently posted with so many people working. Instead it was written down on a napkin that was handed to me to which I then passed it around the coffee shop.
Also, side note. Can we stop the cardboard straws. They get all soggy in the to go cups...
Read moreWalked in early Saturday morning hoping to grab a coffee and a pastry. The server told me he would be with me in a minute, no big deal. So I take the seat closest to the counter and wait... A few minutes pass and a couple come in and walk up to the counter. The server immediately dropped whatever he was busy with and took their order. I stood up and said, "well I guess I'm not being served?" The server said I'm sorry about that with very little sincerity. I feel like maybe this place judged me on my appearance. I rode my harley this morning so I was dressed in jeans and leather.... Maybe I would have been treated better if I had been wearing something more Bohemian. To make along story short if you ride a harley or look like you do you might want to pass on this place. I ended up going a couple blocks over to Fable coffee where I was treated nice, the coffee was great and the blueberry muffin...

This cute place is located on West Main Street in downtown Grass Valley (next to Cirinos). They have indoor and outdoor dining. It smells sooo good when you walk in! It has a really cozy feel to it with beautiful artwork on the walls. Wood flooring and brick walls adds to the early morning serenity!
I had a 12 Oz latte to go...delicious! They also serve breakfast burritos and eggs in a cup plus some delicious looking pastries!
The employee was friendly and the people enjoying their coffees were chilling in this comfortable atmosphere.
I got there at 730am. ( after my lap swim). They open at 7am to 4pm . See my picture of current hours. I don't think they have A/C but do have ceiling fans.
Great place to hang out with friends or just by yourself! My fav early morning...
