Pepe's Cafe — Restaurant in Grass Valley

Way too many tables in a tiny space, not stroller accessible (so wouldn’t be good for wheelchairs either), and the staff were incredibly rude. From the beginning, I was not acknowledged at all when I walked in the door, I asked for a menu and the server disappeared for a few mins before she reappeared and asked me what I wanted (I still didn’t have a menu so I had no idea), I ordered a simple grilled cheese with fruit and a milk for my son. I went to ask if they could bring me the milk first because my son was starving but when I turned to address the server again she had already walked away. I attempted to stop and speak to the server several times and every time she pretended to not hear me, when she finally looked at me I was met with a very aggressive attitude, I asked her if she could get me the milk first and she completely ignored me and when to her drawer to begin counting cash. I asked again and was met with an eye roll but she finally when and grabbed the milk. The restaurant was ridiculously packed so I stood outside in the cold while I waited over 20 minutes for a $17 cold grilled cheese with a fruit bowl that was 90% soggy/old cantaloupe. Will...

The menu has all the usual breakfast staples you’d expect but they also offer a variety of unique and delicious Mexican options. Their Mexican frittata is absolutely amazing and a must try, and their house-made salsas and aiolis will have you asking for extra.

It’s very clear that they care about their menu and the quality of the food they serve.

Aside from the amazing food, the restaurant was spotless and their restroom was probably the cleanest I’ve ever used in a restaurant. It’s clear that cleanliness is a top priority here, which gives me confidence that the back of house is kept to the same...

The people who cook here must not like to work because they did a terrible job. I got a breakfast burrito, thinking it was going to be good and edible. Asked for everything extra crispy bacon, potatoes, and the potatoes were literally soggy and uncooked. The bacon was alright but not crispy. I had to re-cook them at home, however, still did not taste good after I air-fried them because there was no seasoning. I added extra stars for service because they refunded me my money.
