After noticing this new establishment when visiting another nearby restaurant, I decided to give CRAVE Hot dogs and BBQ a try. I believe this place has only been open for a short time, as I have not seen any advertisements or promotions. The overall experience was good. The menu is large and has a lot of choices to choose from. They have lots of TVs and board/card games to entertain you while you wait on your food. I took my wife and my daughter in the early evening on a Friday. The first thing I noticed upon entering the establishment was the amount of service staff standing around waiting for something to do. There were at least 6 servers on the dining floor, alt least 2-3 people back in the kitchen and 2 ladies running the register. You order your food from the counter and a server brings your food to your table when it is ready. I assume they were expecting a big Friday night inrush for the amount of staff that was working.
They have a self serve beer wall, where you scan a card given to you at the register, pour your own beer and it accumulates per oz. nn the card. The beer selection was very good, and there was even a few Whiskey choices to choose from. They have your typical Coors light, Modelo and Bud light. Then they have roughly 15-20 more micro brews to choose from. I opted to go with The Kaiser Imperial Oktoberfest. Very good, smooth Oktoberfest brew. Very refreshing. There was a gentleman who I believe to be a manager at the beer wall offering assistance. He allowed me to have a free taste before choosing and was trying to coach me on how to properly pour my beer. He mentioned if you get too much foam to just ask someone and they will let you re-pour it. I really like the concept of the serve yourself beer wall.
The food was really good and the prices were reasonable. My daughter got some pretzel bites and wings. I got the Chicago dog and my wife got the chili cheese dog. All were very good, the wings were crispy and had great flavor. The Chicago dog was on point. One of my favorites anywhere you go. The Cheese that came with the pretzel bites was really good too. Next time we go I will try some of their BBQ choices. They have typical meat plates like at any BBQ joint. I'm a big fan of brisket, will definitely give it a try next time.
CONS: The only complaint I have is there is some serious accounting issues going on here. Firstly, I was charged 9.91% sales tax. Greeley sales tax is 7.01%. I dont know why they are charging more, but the other establishments in that same shopping center charge 7%.
They charge a 3% fee to use a card. This is becoming more common among businesses, but still a CON in my book.
They adjust their charge amounts on your card for gratuity. I received an email from my credit card asking I left a 69% tip. They adjusted the bill to give the staff more money? I'm ok with this as it was probably pooled tip, but if I had bad service (which I did not) I would not want more gratuity...
Read moreWell where do i start, came in to Greeley location at about 310pm today. when we came in, we were the only customers in restaurant. Ordered 3 hot dogs, fries and slaw. took literally 30 minutes to get food, and when it came out, they got mine totally wrong. I ordered 2 Chicago dogs, they brought out brats. I went to the counter to tell them not to remake mine, i wasn't waiting another 30 minutes. I'm assuming the manager, guy named Todd, told me it'd be another 15 minutes, and i said no, just refund it, i wasn't waiting. He started arguing with me, and told me they had to cook hotdogs (apparently this is the only place in the world that takes 30 minutes to cook a hot dog), which was made even funnier when my wife told me her chili cheese dog was not hot, but room temperature, and cheese on top was cold, like right out of the cooler. They did refund my my full order, but I only wanted the refund for the dogs i wasn't having them remake, and I refused to take the rest of the refund. I was very surprised at the attitude, and excuses of this Todd fellow, and will most definitely never return. The wait time was horrible, but may have been overlooked, but for Todd's argumentative attitude, never...
Read moreFirst I just have to say the staff is wonderful, and the atmosphere is nice. The restaurant was very clean both times we came. My husband and I went here on their opening day. The did take quite a while but we gave them the benefit of the doubt because it was their first day. The fried pickles tasted and felt like they had been sitting out for quite sometime. The hotdogs were delicious though! We decided to come here again yesterday 9/15/24. There was maybe 10 people max in the building including the staff. we were the only ones that didnât have food and it still took 20 plus minutes to get the food out. The hotdogs were barely warm. They donât steam the buns, and they also donât melt the cheese onto your hotdog. So an already barely warm hotdog plus cold cheese isnât very appetizing. I also got the mac n cheese with brisket. Again, the Mac n cheese was only warm. As we sat waiting we really questioned how their food was cooked. Later that evening my husband and I both had symptoms of food poisoning. I had to leave work and go home. I can guarantee it was from the lukewarm food that we were served. Unfortunately we will not be going back for...
