We've tried to make this place our go to for "Mexican food" but the inconsistentcy with the food and how its made/tastes makes it hard. Rice is such an important part of a latino meal to me. My friend and I stopped by yesterday at lunchtime. So food should be good and fresh. We ordered sat and waited no issues. My friends meal came out. No chips or queso yet. So I asked about it to the girl on her phn at the front, askedif she can just cancel the chips and queso and refund the amt. We would of liked to munch on them while waiting for our meals. A few mins later mine came out. I asked for light red chile. Nope. Instant look at the rice it was not fresh. This wasnt the first time we have gotten not fresh rice. Tried to power through it. Scraped the chile off I didnt want btw it was clumpy and very red. Chile never comes out the same anytime we've been to Los ponchos. So again inconsistentcy on the food and sauces. Its ok tried to power through cut a piece of enchilada scooped some beans and rice on the bite and the rice was hard and not fresh or even close to it. Tried a few more bites because well I paid for these meals and was hungry. Same crunch crunch from my rice. Nope couldn't do it. My meal got thrown away and I left extremely disappointed. Im sorry to say it but inconsistentcy with the food and how its prepped and freshness is what causes so many businesses to fail and close. I dont see los ponchos making it that much longer with the food and it not being good everytime. Things need to be made fresh daily. I would be embarrassed to serve hard, not fresh rice. Im so disappointed with this experience again. I wish for our latin businesses to succeed especially in greeley but how your food is sent out wont help at all. There was a little guy a couple tables away and he told his mom something and she said what did you say so he repeated it. He said this is disgusting. She said did you say this is disgusting? He said yes she said no its not and I sadly couldn't help but agree with him. That unfortunately made it the last time I will...
Read moreWas brought a Los Ponchos breakfast burrito this morning at work, and it was AMAZINGLY good! Ample portions, quaility ingredients. Decided to visit after work. Adequate off street parking, very short walk to store front. Staff was friendly and welcoming. Restaurant was very clean, with a modern feel to the building. Ordered 2 street tacos, 4 of the Mamas burritos, 2 each of the barbacoa, and chicken burritos respectively, which came smothered. Got a bottled Pepsi 0, but they had both fountain drinks as well as bottled tea and soda. Also had a Self serve 8 compartment condiment table with chopped onion, cilantro, hot sauces, and more. Burritos came in round aluminum foil pans with clearly marked covers. Got home and opened containers to find big portions. My hungry teens scarfed their burritos down, but honestly, the portions were so big that my wife and I had half a burrito each left over. Everyone was very happy and impressed with the taste, texture, and presentation. Even my Indonesian wife, who is unimpressed with any foods in America, commented that it was really good. The street tacos were equally delicious, packed full of shedded barbacoa, or chunked chicken. Really filling, fantastic green and red chili sauces, and again, impressively large portions. The cost of the whole meal was very affordable. We fed 4 with leftovers for approximately $55.00. Great deal for a great meal. Completely recommend this restaurant to everyone. Food was prepared within 8 minutes of ordering, so they have fast service. There was seating set apart from dining area for to-go orders. Good upbeat music relative to theme of restaurant. Cannot...
Read moreWe went in and this place is awesome! The people are so friendly and welcoming and service was great! Now for the food! WOW! First off, the owner himself came out and greeted us and gave me and my wife a free breakfast burrito to taste as our first time in, both burritos were good but I have to give it to the chorizo burrito only because a good chorizo burrito is hard to find and the only one I’ll eat eat is my own family’s - but now I can stop here and buy one anytime! Thank you Los Ponchos for a good chorizo burrito! Ok, now for the “Mama’s Tacos”! That’s what I had for my lunch. Just the aroma from the perfectly slow cooked carnitas meat, mixed with the old style Mexican “yellow corn” tortilla fried with cheese will have your mouth watering once it’s set in front of you. Tacos filled with the tastiest carnitas meat, the salsa of your choice, a squeeze of lime, and as you take a bite you’ll have the juices running down your hand and the flavors exploding in your mouth will definitely satisfy your tastebuds and have you coming back for more! THATS MY EXPERIENCE! Mama also arrived and greeted us and I’ll tell you what, she’s as sweet as sweet can be! Thank you Los Ponchos and Mama for opening our new favorite family hangout...
