Placed an order over the phone and I should’ve just stopped there. Major language barrier and poor etiquette. I really only wanted a boba milk tea, but decided to try food as well. And that’s apparently a complicated situation for them. Granted, I called 25 minutes before close, I can understand urgency. But a male in the background demanded that the girl on the phone tell me I had to arrive in 5 minutes through her already thick, struggling accent before I ended the call at 9:41 -because I guess that’s when they wanted to close instead of the advertised time. (10pm) No problem, I’m really close. After I walk in, the 2 guys and 1 girl are acting put out that I’m even there. Then I’m told they won’t be making part of my order. So, I pay and even leave a little something for a tip. No big deal, just don’t charge me for it and at least I get boba tea and some noodles, right? NOPE. I get to my car and have to go back in to find out why I have a lukewarm cup of something with zero boba in it. They play dumb until I hold the cup up in front of them after the 4th repeat of “This doesn’t have boba.” and only then do they act surprised like they forgot they didn’t have any boba and just continue closing everything down. Awful. But it really sucks to learn that that I still got charged for stuff I didn’t get and they don’t seem at all bothered or have the decency to tell me all of this in the first place. This is so unbelievably jacked up that I’m including a photo of the receipt and the drink that they sent me away with. Obviously, this is not a boba tea. You’ll also notice that there is literally zero condensation on the outside of it and there is no ice in it. On top of that, it tastes awful because they didn’t even try, and I wasn’t going to go for another sip of it. And no, I didn’t get that crab rangoon, either. I turned around because I wanted to give it all back and as to post void the entire transaction or something but they had everything off like they were closed in a matter of moments after I left. I wish the gyro place was still there instead of...
Read moreI was excited to find a place that doesn't have pork on their menu. I was hopeful to find a new favorite place besides Saigon Basil and made a 45 minutes trip in a not favorable weather to try it out. The entire staff was Latinos so I asked the waiter if the chef was at least Asian. He said no. I expressed my disappointment, but stayed since my kids were hungry. Disappointment is an understatement when we took the first bite. My tofu was loaded in black pepper and tasted rubbery on top of some steamed odd veggie combinations. One of my kid's dish was supposed to be stir fry garden vegetables with beef, but more like a few slices of beef mushed in carrot slices and bean sprouts. My other kid ordered green beef curry, but it looked more like watery soup with a few pieces of shredded beef and veggies. He at least said he liked the taste. Two of us didn't try to eat any more than a few bites. I felt cheated for wasting so much money on mediocre food and small portion. Had to pop in the Asian grocery store next door to get some better packaged snacks. I do not recommend the food...
Read moreIf you're looking for great Thai food served by a fantastic staff, and listening to 80's pop music, Thai One has you covered on all fronts! We had never been here so we asked the manager what he likes and he said the Pad Woon Sen, so my wife got that. Panang Curry is one of my favorite comfort foods so I tried that, and we got an app sampler as well.
Everything was delicious! The crystal noodles in the Pad Woon Sen were outstanding, and the dish was perfectly seasoned and prepared. The Panang was, well, one of the best I've had. Very happy tummy! The app sampler was delish as well, though my only critique is that the Thai One rolls and the Shrimp In a Blanket looked almost identical... but both were yummy!!!
The manager was extremely service oriented and friendly. He made us feel like we were part of the family. We definitely recommend Thai One for outstanding food, terrific service and an overall wonderful...
