I live in Grand Junction and came to this fat shack while visiting family and had definitely a unique experience. When we got there we ordered and were greeted by a really nice guy who definitely knew what he was doing when it came to customer service. We sat there and watched the whole restaurant clear out and than we started to hear a pretty passionate argument between the cook and owner. After like 30+ minutes of waiting for my food I decided to get up and talk to the crew because there was 2 people standing around which we talked to them and we did understand that they didn't know how to make the food about 10 more minutes go by and decide I want to talk to the owner since he was there. When he came out we explained to him how long we've been waiting on our food he gave us a full refund for waiting so long and we sit down with him and he starts telling his story about how long he's been in the restaurant industry all the challenges hes faced in past restaurants and how when he got there a couple months ago he was in absolute horror and has spent February-August so far spending the time flipping the restaurant trying to make it an amazing restaurant and he is struggling with the crew and he sincerely apologizes. I used to be a manager at Jersey Mike's so I completely understand where he's coming from the restaurant is only as strong as the the weakest member of your crew is and the crew needs to work together and make it successful and from what I saw it was a lot of man for themselves going on with the crew, who were definitely sweet and great with customer service. I do want to contuine this and say I was happy with how everything was handled and after talking to the owner I am excited to come back to this fat shack next time I am in Greeley and see how much better he makes it I can tell he has passion for his food and restaurant and I can't wait to see what potential that restaurant has and even that crew has. I hope this owner can turn this fat shack around and hey maybe open another franchise closer to his house one day because I know he lives closer to my town than the restaurant and drives to the restaurant everday which as someone who has worked in the food industry for years I haven't seen an owner have enough passion about the restaurant they owned quite like him or even care enough about the restaurant to show up more than once a month let alone everyday. If passion was the only thing you needed to keep a restaurant going this place would be the bussiest in town, but I do know passion can save a restaurant I watched it happen before so I fully believe he can change this restaurant around and I am going to come back to see how it changes next time...
Read moreJust did my first order both through OrderUp and with Fat Shack. I got a double cheeseburger with lettuce and bacon. It was fairly good, minus being a sloppy sandwich. But, what can you expect from patties that I'm assuming are hand made, and aren't flat as a penny? And sauce? Not meant to be something dainty and clean. The second thing I purchased, I wish I would have known precisely what I was getting. I got the Jersey Fried chicken. I should have paid more attention to the "fridge chicken" bit, over the description it gives of "chicken fingers". Chicken fingers, to me, are strips of chicken breast. Somewhere between like, 4-6 inches in length? Normally. Breaded of course, fried. I swear, what I got was 3 large pieces of breast meat. Was a bit larger than I expected. I also was not expecting it to be coated in powdered sugar (might want to make a note of that on your site...). I'm not complaining much about it, just that I wasn't expecting such large portions. They were interesting. Sadly, am currently only able to eat one, as they are large in size and I had already ate my burger and fries. If they keep, I will probably finish them off tomorrow.
Someday, I will order when it's the middle of the day., so I can hopefully get some deep fried desserts!
My ONE MAJOR COMPLAINT (which is major to me due to convenience): In the instructions, I stated that..whenever my delivery person shows up - I get a phone call or a text. I got neither. Luckily enough for me, I was in an area of the house where I thought I heard a car door shut, so I went to check it out. Since it was about that time for someone to show up with my food.
When I inquired my delivery person about it, he stated NOBODY TOLD HIM, they just "Handed me the food and told me to go."

Read moreTwo part story. Sorry for the length. About a year ago, I ordered online for delivery. I wanted to add something to my order so I called them. Come to find out, the only thing right about my order was my name. They were almost done with my food by the time I had called. The young lady I spoke to was very nice and apologized for their website. She told me that they had been having multiple issues with it lately. I stayed on the phone with her to fix my order and was willing to pay. She told me that due to the issue, it was on them. She was very professional and I couldn't have been happier despite the mix up. Fast forward to tonight... Enter my address for delivery, make my order, submit. Remembering my last incident, I decide to call to make sure everything was right. I went over my order with the gentlemen and told him that it was for delivery. He apologized and said that it hadn't come through yet. I told him that I would call back in a few minutes to allow the system time to update. I call back and go over everything again with a different employee. He tells me that everything came through and he said it would be on its way in 30-40min. About an hour later, they call to tell me that it's ready... I tell him that it was for delivery, yet again, and he begins to tell me about an updated ticket price. I tell him that there shouldn't be an updated price because I ordered it for delivery. He eventually put me on the phone with the owner, or so he claimed to be the owner. He proceeded to tell me that it was operator error and that he's had delivery tickets come in correct for the past two years. The lack of professionalism from this "owner" blew my mind.
