I was having a huge craving for Philly cheesesteak and after a quick google search, I found Philly’s & York. I'm always looking for new places to try and review so I was excited to try this new restaurant. While looking up the menu I saw that they specialize in the cheesesteak but also have a few twists to the classic cheesesteak. The location happens to be conveniently on the main drag on the east side of Green Bay. I decided to go inside to order. My first impression of the exterior was that it was freshly painted and the choice of color combination is a nice aesthetic. The interior was clean with new furnishings and new appliances. The kitchen is open, which means you can see the cooks cooking your food. The price ranges from $10 to $20 per person. They offer indoor seating, a drive-thru, and delivery via eat street. I ordered the classic Philly cheesesteak with no veggies with a side of cheese fries. The staff took my order, but they didn't seem very friendly or professional. They simply took my order and that was it. I didn't wait long for my food, which was packaged in a styrofoam container. I took the food home. Upon opening the container the food was still warm and they packaged the fries and the sandwich separately. After the first few bits, I knew I had made the correct decision to go to Philly & York. The meat was very flavorful and was not chewy. They put nacho cheese on the sandwich, which I wasn't expecting, but I didn't mind someone else's take on the Philly cheesesteak. Make sure to have some napkins handy. The sandwich can be greasy and the cheese gets all over your fingers. The fries, on the other hand, I was very disappointed in. They were soggy with no flavor. The cheese was just nacho cheese. I would recommend this restaurant to my friends and I will be back to try one of the other cheesesteaks or the...
Read moreEggs were cooked to order, but were cold when served. Bacon was plenty and meaty, but I think it would have been better if it would have cooked in a cooking device that drained away fatty grease. Pancakes ,two, were large and tasted ok. However, they were served on an undersized square dish that rotated. I think the dish was meant for food that is meant to be shared and rotates to make it easy for friends and family to share, but it is not good for serving pancakes. 4.The hashbrowns were terrible! I think they were cooked in oil that had been overly used, so the the crispy parts had a funky taste, and rest of it was under cooked. I've had hashbrowns that were awesome and I've had hashbrowns that were BAD. These were closer to the BAD end of the scale. The only reason I tried this place was because my daughter-in-law bought me a gift card. When I went to checkout they said something about they were changing over their systems and couldn't take as payment the gift card that they sold my daughter-in-law. THEY WOULD NOT HONOR THE GIFT CARD THEY SOLD. I ended up paying almost 1/4 of $100 for a substandard breakfast for one person. Positive Notes My waitress was very nice. I wish her well. I left full. I didn't get sick. I got feedback on my review. They tried to state that they accepted their gift card. They DID NOT ACCEPT THERE OWN GIFT CARD. I had to use a different card. I used a debit card. I CAN PRODUCE THE BANK STATEMENT...
Read more11/5/23 we went for breakfast for the first time. I’ve been wanting to stop here since Egg Yolk got there. When we got there we had to wait just a little bit for them to clear a table since they were busy no big deal at all. We sat down and they took our drink order. I got coffee and water the wife got a soda. They have a really good sized menu for breakfast lots to choose from. I was originally going to order biscuits and gravy but then I seen their carnivores skillet. I ordered the skillet with eggs over easy and covered with sausage gravy and crispy hash browns with Rye toast. The wife ordered 2 pancakes and bacon. It did take a bit to get our food but it was Sunday and just after church time so it’s gonna be busy. When our food came the first impression was wow that looks delicious. I started with the toast cause cold toast is no good lol. Upon my first bit of the skillet I was in heaven. So if I remember correctly it has sausage, ham, bacon a nd polish sausage. The polish sausage give it a great flavor. The wife’s pancakes were delicious also the edges had little crispy ends and they were fluffy. My only critique would be is that the waitress we had would have been a little more attentive. She seemed to be more interested in her phone instead of asking if we needed anything or bringing us our check. We waited for a while for the check and I just walked up to the counter where she was and asked to pay. I would definitely...
