Las Brisas — Restaurant in Green Bay

When I first walked into this place, I almost turned around and walked back out. It’s smaller, it had a weird smell, the tables were dirty but I’m so glad that I didn’t leave. There was only 2 people working so customer service really lacked. Like really. BUT this is some of the best TRADITIONAL Mexican food I’ve had in a long time. My pazole bowl www HUGE the meat was perfect and tender it was so flavorful. I had to get the rest in a take home bowl. My taco meat was flavored amazingly! Traditional Mexican place but honestly there are better spots in GB. Only person there but only about half the tables were available since the others hadn't been bussed. Even the clear tables didn't look like they'd been wiped down. Flickering florescent lights and overall dingy atmosphere. Usually places like this end up blowing you away with amazing food but I can only give the food a 3 out of 5. If the food was 5 out of 5 it would totally make the setting bearable. Given that's not the case I would recommend other mexican restaurants...

Talk about authentic, I ordered the birria de res and to my delight the waitress said they only had borrego (sheep) on this day. It came with an amazing consume with chick peas, just like in Guanajuato and Hidalgo. Borrego very well prepared and tender. Beans and rice had great flavor. Salsa is probably the best in town. A little hot with a lot flavor and even a dash of sweet. Menu includes menudo and pozole. Great service, very friendly and welcoming. Family from Oaxaca...
