My husband and I just had dinner at this restaurant to celebrate our anniversary and it was a let down. The staff was rude, the food was bland and 2 tablespoons of guacamole cost $5.00.
The only good thing about this place is the salsa on the table. It is a little light on the cilantro but it has an overall nice flavor. The green sauce that they give you has too much cilantro and the red sauce is just hot. NO flavor!
My husband had the pork quesadillas and I had the huevos con chorizo. The quesadillas were greasy and lacking any spice. That is the best part of the meal. What I had was really bad! The eggs were over cooked, the chorizo was greasy and had no spice at all and the beans were flavorless.
It gets better. The female server that we had was rude. She came to the table and took our drink order just fine. She was friendly up until we ordered our food. She gave us nasty looks when we asked questions about items on the menu and NEVER came back to the table. Another server brought out our food. No one checked on us.
When we decided that we were ready to leave and wanted the check, we tried to wave down a serve several times. This resulted in being ignored. We noticed that everyone that came into the restaurant after us had left. That is when I got up and went to the window to pay without the check.
Our server was at the payment window. I was ignored for a couple of minutes before she finally acknowledged me. Then, someone walked in and she walked away from me. She walked out of the building!
The server came back after less than 2 minutes and told me that she would get the check. After a few minutes, she returned. She asked me if everything was, "Ok". I told her, 'No.' Her response was to laugh. Rather than cause a scene, I just paid the bill and left.
We will not be returning as we have never felt more unwelcome in a restaurant in our lives. Besides, the food...
Read moreI tried this place a couple times after having been recommended by several people and was severely disappointed each time. The menu is an extreme let down and they have little to no options compared to other places. One of the times I ordered a salad and was given no option for salad dressings. I had to ask for ranch and the girl that always there with red hair and braids never brought it to me. I asked several times for the ranch as she had seemingly forgotten and when I finally ate my salad with no ranch and was done with it, she FINALLY brought it over. Tried it again and got her as a server again and before I was even done eating she took my plate away while I literally had my fork in my mouth with food and was mid bite ??? The other girl who is there is also very rude. After going to la cueva with a group of friends and co workers we sat down and ordered. The girl with black hair that’s also always there took our order and then her and the redhead brought out the food. They started yelling at us cause they were trying to give everybody their plate which could have been done in another way instead of literally yelling at customers telling us we needed to pay attention or we wouldn’t get our food??? This would have been understandable if we weren’t paying attention but we were because it makes no sense to make their life harder when they are just trying to do their job. It was very busy so I understand that but that’s no excuse to treat paying customers this way and if they get flustered why not hire more staff or limit the number of people that come in especially on the weekends? Why have the entire place packed full to the point where nobody can sit down and people are left standing and only have two waitresses who turn into gremlins the moment they get busy? Would not recommend and after giving it a few tries I definitely will never be back and I tell all my friends they...
Read moreFood was delicious! But service was poor and margaritas were just so-so. Was so excited to try this place because of the high reviews for this authentic Mexican restaurant, but the service made it so hard to like it. Came as a party of three, I got the enchiladas and the other two split fajitas. We ordered a pitcher of margaritas, lime on the rocks, the flavor was good but it was definitely watered down - needed more tequila. Our food arrived and we noticed we were missing a set of silverware. We waited about 10 minutes for our waitress to come to let her know we didn't get one (there were only 2 other tables at this time). Then when she brought us some, we noticed she hadn't brought over any tortillas for the fajitas but she walked away before we could tell her. We were waiting for her to come back to tell her, but she was at the bar texting for 10 minutes. At this point I was almost half way done with my meal so the other person had to go up to the kitchen window and ask for tortillas. It took about 5 more minutes for those to arrive and then it only came with 4 tortillas for two people with a whole plate of their biggest order of fajitas. We had to flag down the other waitress to ask for more and we didn't have any other waiters/waitress come to our table to ask for refills or anything until it was time for the check. Again, food was absolutely delicious. But we'll probably be ordering take out next time and making our...
