If I could give zero stars, I would. Do yourself a favor — do not walk, RUN away from this place.

I was under the "care" of Dr. Verhasselt and her nurse, Cody, when I found out I was pregnant. Unfortunately, I experienced a miscarriage, and the way this clinic handled it was beyond negligent. Despite reaching out with concerning symptoms, my worries were dismissed. This led to an emergency D&C performed by Dr. Burmeister.

As if the trauma of losing a pregnancy wasn’t enough, Dr. Burmeister failed to remove all of the pregnancy tissue during the procedure. I spent a month unknowingly carrying remaining tissue, still experiencing pregnancy symptoms, and passing clots. When I called the office to report these symptoms, I was told it was "highly unlikely" anything was wrong — despite my obvious, ongoing issues.

Thankfully, I sought out a second opinion. A compassionate, thorough doctor took the time to do an ultrasound and immediately identified the retained tissue. I had to undergo a second surgery to correct their mistake. This entire experience deeply impacted my mental, emotional, and physical health. I missed weeks of work and endured an unnecessary, extended trauma because of their carelessness.

To make matters worse, when I filed a grievance, their response completely disregarded key parts of my concerns. I left a follow up voicemail to discuss this, and my call was not returned.

The lack of accountability, empathy, and proper medical care at this clinic is appalling. No one should have to go...

I see some bad reviews about waiting times and not getting information. I'm at the end of my second pregnancy through this clinic and completely disagree with these other posts (I know everyone's experiences are going to be different). I loved my doctor with my first, but she has since left. And I absolutely love my doctor now, Dr. Palani. She is patient, takes time to answer questions and has a wonderful bedside manner. As far as waiting times go, I don't wait any longer here than I have with any other doctor, dentist, eye doctor, etc clinic. When doctors take time to answer questions and emergencies come in, there are going to be days that you might have to wait a bit, but they will spend their time with you when it is your turn. As far as the "didn't get any information" review... again this is my second pregnancy and I had an appointment with a nurse at the start of both pregnancies to go over A LOT of information that got sent home with me. I have never felt that I was supported by my doctor...

The midwife team at Bellin Generations is truly the best. Throughout my pregnancy and delivery they made me feel safe and heard. I worked with Angela, Lydia, and Renea and they were all fantastic. Angela was my primary midwife throughout my pregnancy and delivered my baby, she was amazing as were her nurses. I saw Lydia as well at some prenatal appointments as well as Renea during my hospital stay. I truly felt heard and safe during the entire pregnancy and delivery. I suffered a previous pregnancy loss and was nervous throughout my pregnancy, Angela made me feel confident and that allowed me to enjoy my entire pregnancy instead of focus on my insecurities. Bellin having such amazing midwives truly sets them apart from other area hospitals for prenatal care. Picture of my little girl they all worked so hard to take...
