My husband and I had the most amazing experience at the Astor House. We just returned home from our trip and the first thing I did was write this review because it was THAT good. Tom and Linda made our gameday long weekend extra special and truly made us feel like we were returning to a cozy home each day.
Linda’s daily breakfast creations were so delicious and unexpected. We never ate the same thing twice and her creative spins on classic dishes blew us away. 3 courses including a dessert (at breakfast?!!) and coffee! We opted to dine in our room each day so we could sleep in and be lazy and our food was lovingly delivered to our door in a basket. We looked forward to opening up our treasure chest of goodies each morning and this ended up being one of the highlights of our whole trip. I never knew a berry fruit cup could be so delicious, but I’m still thinking about the sugary lemon drizzle on top. And I’m going to be dreaming about that cinnamon roll for a long time.
We stayed in the Vienna room and the unique layout and decor was such a fun change of pace from your standard room with a bed. I took way too many pictures of the artwork and had a blast going up and down the stairs to the loft. We also appreciated the private entrance through the back, the jacuzzi tub in our room, and all the lovely little details the staff incorporated to make us feel comfy and cared for. (We had an abundance of blankets and towels, wine glasses, access to a mini fridge with loaded ice cube trays, and even snacks.)
I also appreciated the genuine warmth and friendliness of Tom and Linda. They were so welcoming and kind and very easy to talk to. They greeted us like friends and offered great suggestions for restaurants and things to do nearby. Their jovial personalities made everyone feel right at home and even sparked conversations and connections with other guests.
I could go on and on and just can’t emphasize enough how much we loved staying here. We were already excited to visit Lambeau, but some of our best vacation memories are because we stayed at the Astor House. This place is really something special. We will...
Read moreWe had the coziest, most delicious and spooky stay at Astor House this weekend with Linda and Tom. I brought our spooky kooky girl group to stay in the joint Hong Kong and Vienna suites for a bachelorette weekend and we had the BEST time!
Prior to arriving Linda spent time emailing me great recs about the spookiest Green Bay activities to incorporate in our Bach itinerary.
Leading up to our stay, the couple was so kind to accommodate our late evening arrival. On our first morning we were treated to basket-delivered goods with fresh made scones, dark roast coffee and a farmers bowl breakfast.
One the second morning we dined in the parlor with candied fruits and nuts, a flaky savory quiche and potatoes, with home made vanilla ice cream over a dense chocolate cake to finish. Their breakfast menu was so thoughtfully curated and used Linda’s family recipes for each dish. Also the parlor is so beautifully decorated, you can feel the stories of past visitors and returning families in the walls.
I recommend asking Tom about the history of Astor House and Linda about her intriguing paranormal experiences in and around the home. She retells these stories with such heart, I could have sat and chatted with them both for hours.
The rooms themselves are beautifully antiquated and just updated enough for comfort. The beds were super comfortable and the fire place was a warming touch on a brisk evening. Use the jacuzzis if you can! Make sure to log your stay in their guest journals. Overall we had such a lovely stay and plan to return whenever we’re...
Read moreThis was our first time staying at a Bed and Breakfast and it was amazing! Tom and Linda were so welcoming and made our stay so enjoyable. We came from Michigan for a Green Bay Packers game (our first time at Lambeau Field) and found The Astor House to be so affordable and so convenient for the game. It was literally a five minute drive to the stadium. After the game, we were back to our room within 15 minutes which was amazing after a long day of tailgating. Tom and Linda served an amazing game day breakfast totally made in house and fresh! Our room was so cozy and clean and felt like home, unlike any hotel we have stayed at. The house is beautiful and has so many original features that make it unique and special. There is a stocked fridge full of soda, juice and tea, as well as coffee, hot chocolate, snacks, and popcorn, all complimentary. Their hospitality is above and beyond what you will find in any hotel. The grounds are beautiful, full of birds, butterflies, chipmunks, and squirrels, perfect for a morning coffee or evening glass of wine. Free wifi, cable tv, and breakfast delivered to your room if you wish were nice! We fell in love with the coffee (Scotty P's) and had to buy a bag along with some biscotti before going home. Tom and Linda, thank you so much for an amazing couple of days and we will definitely be back for our next trip to Green Bay! You are the best!
