Got a skinny margarita and dinner special.
The margaritas was watered down and needed flavor. I asked for a little Cointreau and the server looked at me crazy. I said, “triple sec?” Still looked at me crazy. I said, “orange liquor?” “Oh! Gotcha”. Gave me a shot of orange liquor where I split my shot with the other couple who ordered a skinny margarita with the same issue. Our table ordered the queso with chili as our appetizer at the same time placed our entree order.
We waited maybe 10 minutes most and the server comes back around with the other couples entrees. As the server went to place the entrees down, my friend went to reach for the plate our server hesitated pulling the plate back and stated, “no, these plates are hot.” In which he placed down. Then we went to get the rest of our entrees. Within a moment, the server came back and dropped our off our food and asked if we needed anything else. The other couple politely asked for the queso which he realized he forgot and promptly brought back to us. As we began to take our first bites, the boyfriend yipped. He made a comment grabbing at his arm “he wasn’t kidding the plates are hot” and showed us his arm where he had a burn mark from the plate. All of us curious, we touched our plates and across the border everyone’s plate was the same temperature, extremely hot.
For those who have never worked in a restaurant, let me inform you what this means. They were dead all day and their plates sat under the heat lamp in the expo window for hours. I’ll bet their sales today where $1,000 judging by how hot our plates were.
Cautiously we continue to eat our dinner. Which I’ll give them that the food was hot. However, as I went to eat the tamale, I noticed the weight and handed it to my boyfriend. He opened the husk and laughed. It was the only cold item on our plate. The server came back and told him it was cold. I had handed him the tamale and assiduously attempted to correct. The server came back within seconds with the same tamale, clearly microwaved.
Over the night, asked for our check. With our cards ready, the server handed us our checks. Before handed our cards back to server I noticed the charge of $4.50 for orange liquor.
Getting to the point, the server was impersonal and rushed us to our order. I’ll give him that when asked to for something he was prompt however if I wanted unflavored Mexican food with a watered down margarita at another dive bar for cheaper. At least I’d pay...
Read moreI wanted to love this place. Never had ate at the Brighton location but have had their other locations in the past under both their company names. I did not eat inside as we just had gotten carry out. 3 stars for the ease and awesome website for online ordering, I like how it saves your orders for easy reference back to or to just reorder the exact order again with a click of a button. Along with that another star for the huge huge menu and the food being decently good. And then a 3rd star for the lovely girl who brought our food out, as she was a sweetheart. The reason for the docked stars is because no where in the menu does it say entrees come with chips and salsa so I had ordered some separately, only to find out from the nice girl that entrees come with chips and salsa, ok not an issue, however once home I saw that they only gave us one order of chips and salsa but in the case that I paid for an order and they also come with them, why only one order? Also, my bf substituted tomatoes in his meal for green peppers instead and they took the tomatoes out but never added the green peppers. I also paid for extra sour cream and we did not receive any extra. I wanted to call and complain but I give places second chances but my bf rather go to Mexican Fiesta...
Read moreI just want everyone to know. I have a horrible experience. I placed a carryout order. I had the Spanish speaking woman on the phone had her to repeat my order and we went over it twice. Then when I went to pick up my order half my order was not there. She was saying that I didn’t order this, and I didn’t order that we exchange words back-and-forth over the phone and then she hung up on me at the request of me speaking to a manager. She kept insisting that I didn’t order what I ordered And she was not trying to accommodate at all my company spins lots of money with this company on a weekly and sometimes daily basis and even after hours, I will not be making another trip to this restaurant anyone that’s ordering takeout and you get that Spanish speaking woman there who is very confrontational I would advise you to discontinue the order and not place it at all or either place it with someone there who speaks English, and this is at the Brighton location, very disappointed, and she was not trying to do anything to make the order right she just swore on a stack of Bibles that we did not order...
