Edit** Upped to 4/5 stars because the Owner made great points and I'm honestly a fan of people who can take criticism and own it and be humble. Matt and Team are really the best!
I'm a big fan of the coffee here. I love seeing a coffee shop in green that isn't a chain, and I'll always support local because Matt and his team are local.
But I'm also going to say that the environment is kind of rough. It feels like a cafeteria. Every seat in this place is hard, and uncomfortable. Nearly every table wobbles. I could even forgive the uncomfortable seating if there was a bar height set up where I could at least stand to fight the hard seats.
I'll gladly change this to 5/5 once there's some sort of option to actually enjoy my coffee without the table wobbling and my body hurting from the hard seats. I'm sure someone could argue that this helps get guest in and out without them lounging all day, but it often stops me from coming in and enjoying coffee all together because I'd rather sit somewhere for an hour that's comfortable or hit a drive through coffee.
Coffee - easily 5/5, Food - 5/5, Atmosphere and comfort - 2/5.
Maybe it's just me, and I'm the exception to the rule, but I...
Read moreThis is more of a question rather than a review (I couldn’t find somewhere to submit a question), but could someone please explain why it is “confessional” themed with religious imagery? If we’re in an age where cultural appropriation is a thing, why are we engaging in religious appropriation? If the owners aren’t devout Catholics, then using the Catholic religion (especially a sacrament) as a decoration/theme is a bit offensive, no? I’m hoping I’m off the mark here, but as a Catholic I’m not really cool with the idea of a coffee shop using my faith without encouraging a true Catholic lifestyle through their business (otherwise it would be blasphemy and degradation of a sacrament). I haven’t seen anything to say otherwise, so I would love some clarity! Will totally revise/delete this if I’m...
Read moreSo excited to have this new, local gem open!
I went on the first day of business, and because this place is run and owned by experienced baristas the service was flawless. Questions were answered intelligently and information was shared with a smile!
We got: a vanilla latte, a mocha, a French onion brioche roll & a mixed berry muffin. I will be dreaming of that French onion roll for DAYS. The coffee drinks were so well done; not outshining the espresso but still well-flavored.
Inside, it’s a pretty typical coffee shop ambiance. Clean & minimal — plenty of space for working solo or with others as well as little “confessional booths” with tables to meet with others that feels a little more private (though still open to the public). Can’t wait to drag my computer along and work here for many...
