Three complaints. 1.) Arrive at 5pm and have to stand around and wait before anyone assists you. Didn't seem very busy. 2.) Loud as heck. I know I am old but at 5pm, the place is blaring. My first visit here since it was Legends years ago and they never had the music blaring till after 8pm. Food was okay but server didn't refill drink when empty. 3.) Biggest pet peeve of all. They charge a 2.5% on all card transactions. I have several issues with this. First of all, no one said a word about this when we came in. The bill came and there was a 2.5% fee on the bill. Was never told of this and never advised any other option. Asked the waitress about this and she said they started this a year ago. Absolutely ridiculous, it isn't the amount of money, it is the point. Anyone knows that the average credit card user spends 83% more than the average cash user. By taking credit cards as most businesses have done for over 50 years you increase the amount of sales you make. Given that 70% of customers pay with card it is just silly and a cash grab. Not to mention, not being transparent about it. It just seems in bad taste and narrow minded. I could forgive 1 and 2 but I will never go to a restaurant that charges 2.5% for credit cards. Just restaurants being cheap. They already get by not paying wait staff a fair wage so you rely on the customers to pay 20%, which I did do since as a business you expect customers to pay your wait staff but you want us to pay 2.5% in credit card fees on top of it. Anyway, won't ever come back unless those fees are eliminated nor will I ever go to a restaurant that does this. We were going to have my relatives graduation dinner there next summer because she loves the venue but not now... so we can spend $600 on 20 people only to be nailed with a 2.5% fee? Give me a break. Build in the cost of this fee in your food. The $3.29. The average restaurant pays 16 cents for 24 ounces of fountain soda.... this mark up more than pays for any credit card fee so don't be so greedy.

A place that is easily five-star worthy without having to exaggerate merely to be kind. Their food is downright awesome with an ever rotating daily special. I’ve been here twice and today I opted for their special which was Prime Rib and it was phenomenal, and I appreciate they offered a horseradish aioli to complement the deliciousness of the tender meat. The server/bartender, Marissa, went out of her way to deliver an enjoyable experience as she was extremely attentive and very kind. Last time I was here, a gentleman whose name presently escapes me, was also extremely genuine and attentive. On that occasion I had also chosen their special which was Philly Cheese Steak Pierogies individually hand crafted by the “Pierogie Lady” and cooked in-house to scrumptious perfection. I may just become a regular around these parts. They honestly have quite an array of beers, ciders, and seltzers on draft. When I ate the pierogies I also feasted on a strip steak and it too was cooked precisely to my liking, tastily seasoned, and paired well with buttery steamed broccoli. The side salad they gave me with the prime rib was my first time trying a white French dressing and though it is slightly sweet, I admittedly enjoyed that as well. A great place to come eat and with all the TVs I was able to enjoy a good portion of the Cleveland Cavalier playoffs.

I placed on order at the Green location online. I ordered poutine fries with extra cheese curds. I waited at the bar for 10 minutes while my order was being completed. When I got home, I realized that I received plain fries with cheese curds melted on top. I was very confused as to why there was no chorizo sausage gravy. When I called the restaurant I was told that I ordered the poutine fries "without sauce". I explained to the employee that when you place the order for the poutine online, it gives you an option to add salad dressing (Who's ordering salad dressing on gravy fries?!?!?). I thought that you had to pick one of the dressing options so I chose no dressing. The employee then stated that the kitchen was very confused by the order because of the "no sauce/dressing" choice. Then I started to wonder why nothing was said to me when I arrived to pick up the order or during the 10 minutes that I was waiting on the order. I was also told that "they" do not have any control over their website. If that was indeed true, then why doesn't that option come up for every item on the menu? As I was thanking the employee for explaining the "mix up" I was hung up on. So, I ended up spending $7.99 on an order of $2.99 fries. Fantastic customer service 🤦‍♀️

Went out to eat last night and stopped at a couple of places in the Portage lakes and the wait and lack of staff made us move on. We decided on the Town Tavern and I have to say it was a great choice. We arrived a little after 7 and were seated right away even though they were very busy. We were seated right near the bar and were greeted right away and asked for our drink order. The rum runners we ordered were brought to the table promptly and were fantastic. We ordered our food and my salad was brought out with in a few minutes. (like 2 minutes) I did find a long hair in my salad but and Emma took care of the problem promptly and with out any problem. I Know that this sort of thing just happens from time to time and it didn't take away from the experience.

One of the owners, James, came by to take dishes off of our table and I saw him working behind the bar, serving drinks and setting a great example for his entire staff. The general manager, Brian, brought out our poppers (best I have ever had) and kept apologizing for the length of time it took to get to our table. We didn't think the amount of time it took was long at all. I noticed Brian running food the entire time we were there.

We talked to James again and he introduced his partner Daniel. We told them that his staff was very attentive and gave us a great experience. They kept telling us that they were under staffed and had a few hiccups but I never saw any. Understand that this is not a small establishment with indoor and outdoor seating available. We had 3 different servers taking care of us who couldn't have been friendlier.

This was not our first time here and it certainly won't be our last. Daniel and James keep up the good work, great service...

It was our first time dining at The Town Tavern. We were a part of 10 celebrating the birthdays of two of my adult sons. Since it was our first time there we weren't sure if they did anything like sing for birthdays but by the time we ordered we had seen waitresses carrying sparklers and singing and bringing out a dessert for several different tables so I decided to mention to our waitress that we had two birthdays at our table. We proceeded to eat and all our meals were pretty good. Our waitress was also attentive and friendly. However near the end of our meal she asked if we needed boxes and would like any dessert. I mentioned the birthdays again and she told me that they don't really do anything for birthdays then hesitated and seemed to stumble over what to say then she asked for their names. We waited around for awhile and she asked again what their names were. By this time we were done eating and she'd started clearing plates. Eventually she came back with a couple other waiters and they sang a half hearted happy birthday with no sparklers or dessert. We don't expect free stuff and that's fine but after seeing several other groups receive nice birthday celebrations then to be told a very obvious lie like I was stupid was quite off putting. If there was some issue that I didn't bring it up early enough or they didn't believe me about the birthdays then they could've explained further or asked me and we would have shown IDs but to be lied to like that to my face put a bit of a damper on the evening so I'm not sure we'll be going back. Someone at our table even had a video from a previous visit showing what they do for birthdays so I don't understand why a waitress...
