Handel's Homemade Ice Cream — Restaurant in Green

The ice cream was fairly good but there are SO many problems with this place. 1- the ice cream is too soft. 2- the waffle cones are too thin. I put my thumb through it trying to remove the cone paper. 3- service is SOOO slow. You have to stand there while they're hand jamming pints for others, there's only one register serving three lines. . .can you imagine bringing a youth league team here? OMG. 4- You can't just get a scoop of something. It has to be one scoop of one flavor and 1.5 scoops of another. It's just odd. Value is pretty good though-meaning the prices are good. So that's something. In general, I wouldn't drive out of my to eat here, especially if it's cold and windy out, and it's late winter in Northeastern...

Ok here are 2 pictures of my $4 ice cream which was considered a full scoop of ice cream. This was about 1/3 cup of melted ice cream, and it wasn’t hot out. 60 degree day, with no lines. You should have seen mine and my sisters reaction when he placed in the window. First off because it was so melted it looked like someone thru up in the bowl, second it was a little of a large tablespoon in the cup. This will be my last time at Handles. Handel's is one of my all time favorite ice cream places! Even more so now that they offer a couple dairy free options! There are so many flavors to choose from and you can get scoops of different flavors to create your own flavor combination. So delicious! I love that they are open year round! Frozen treats are still delicious even when the ground is frozen! 😆 I have been to a few different locations and all of the employees are friendly and helpful.
