Menches Brothers Restaurant & Pub — Restaurant in Green

We have been here before as a group and food and service were great! Today was not the case. We had a group of 14 which wasn't the issue, they were not busy. We were told the tables couldn't be turned and put together because it would block getting around (although they have in the past at the exact same spot). Ok that's fine! But our waitress stood at one end of the table and had us pass the food down. No kids menu for my 6 yr old grand daughter. She had to tell a 6 yr old what was on the kids menu. She said the manager would have to turn the computer back on to print one and it will take a few. Never asked any of us if we could us a drink refill, my 78 yr old dad even had to ask for more hot water for his tea. My daughter asked for more water but NEVER received it and it's not like she is a child, she's 37. As a waitress she didn't notice or care not really sure which! Then 4 people ordered a slice of pie it took about 15 minutes and when she brought it to the table once again it had to be passed down the table. She reached over and across the table and put my dad's pie on top of his styrofoam container. I grabbed the last piece and walked to the other end of the table and gave it to my 76 year old mother. The waitress left and no one had any silverware Once again I helped myself to the silverware basket. Then my bill was suppose to be for 3, but I paid for 5. Although money was far from any of our issues. We won't be back and if we ever do it will be a VERY LONG TIME. My opinion is that our waitress NEEDS TRAINED or if she doesn't like her job it's time to find another! This was the worst experience at any...

Menches Brothers is always good. Mondays are special for active duty, retired, and honorably discharged military members. A very generous discount is applied to the bill for the meal of your choice on and even off the menu. The service is spectacular and very consistent. All the rest of the week, veterans and active military get a 10% discount. The food is always good and consistent in preparation, flavor, texture, and portion size. It is plenty to eat. The burgers are very good as always and the menu has 50 of them on it. Menches is Ohio strong and Ohio proud. There is quite a history with this restaurant and family, just ask them. It is fascinating and is certainly an American success story. Adding a sad end. After all these years of patronizing Menches and usually on Mondays, my last patronage was tonight. I wasn't hungry enough to order a whole meal and really have no place to put anything in a refrigerator. I ordered a soft drink with no ice and it came with ice. I ordered a bowl of chicken dumpling soup which was actually way salter than it needed to be. I wasn't told till afterward that a military discount wouldn't be applied because I didn't spend enough. F- for the waitress and F- for the restaurant. Nothing is as it should have been. Your annual review is a 0 and with that, you, for dishonored your advertisement and your military, you get a dishonorable discharge. This will not be happening again. I heard such wonderful things about this place....my only thought is they must have been drunk because the service and food was awful. We waited awhile for food (only 2 other patrons were there and already done eating)...while we waited we enjoyed cold coffee...when are food arrived we enjoyed a make it yourself Ruben and cold fries and a blackened burger which would be more appropriately named a salted Burger luckily it was also accompanied by cold fries. In addition the condiments on the table were empty and we had to borrow from another table since the server never came back. We did receive refills on our drinks and also got to enjoy the smell of our servers arm pit as she stretched across our food and table to pour it rather than ask for the glass....our lunch ended with being over charged and being informed the Manager had left for the day...our server is lucky we wanted to leave as quickly as we did because that's the only reason she received a tip...so disgusted with the service and food we didn't want to...
