Update: I returned back and ordered the "pizzabirria". 10/10. I already knew it would be amazing because the taco was so amazing. This is just a lot more. I was able to film a bit while they made it fresh. I'll upload more photos as I continue to try new food when I'm in the area.

I had business to do in Greensboro and wanted to try a new Mexican place to review. This was close by so I stopped in. Not only was restaurant new to me, it's new to the area. Upon entering, I found out it's a "fast casual" Mexican concept. However, this isn't the typical type. There are items on the menu items that are not 'business as usual" such as Chori-Pollo, ACP and Quesabirria (they also have pizza-birria which is all the rage now). They also have a California burrito w/ French fries inside of it and some other offerings that looks great. Like others, this is a "choose your items as you go down the line' type concept. Starting with the entree you have the standards like Burrito, or bowl, but others like nachos, salad, taco salad, tacos and quesadilla. All of these items are the same price, so simple pricing. Then you have a choice a protein. Choices are Steak, chicken, carnitas, pastor, ground beef, chorizo, grilled shrimp, birrira and veggies. Naturally depending on the choice the price varies. Along with the protein you have a choice of cilantro rice or seasoned rice, and black beans or pinto beans or for the low carb fans peppers and onions. After that there are a variety of sauces and FOUR types of pico (regular, mango, pineapple and corn). Then they have different additions as seen in the photos. You can also get sides of guac, choriqueso or queso. Mexican glass bottled beverages and inhouse made beverages (horchata) and desserts (flan and Tres leches) are offered as well. As in other Mexican restaurant reviews I do, I went for the Chori-pollo. One quesabirra as well, because I can't help myself and I saw in the cooler they have homemade Horachata. YES PLEASE!

Ratings: Quesabirra- This is everything you want in an authentic (beef) quesabirra. Moist and flavorful filling, onion and cilantro, great dipped and grilled wrap, and the consomé turned a homerun into a grand slam. Consomé had a lot of depth. 10/10 Chori-pollo- Rice- seasoned rice was moist and spiced well. Not under or overpowering. Beans- Whole beans w/ nice flavor. Solid Chicken- moist, flavorful, again, not over or underwhelming Chorizo- ground, spiced well Gauc- balanced and robust with a nice consistency. Not too chunky, not too smooth. Pico (regular)- was standard The entire bowl was a 10++ Served with chips and salsa. Chips are corn, and usually I am not a fan of yellow corn chips as I find the flavor of corn "not good". These however, had a mellow corn flavor and went well with the salsa. Salsa had a hint of heat and a very good consistency not too chunky or thin. Horchata- To be honest, I've only discovered horchata like 6 month ago. I love it, and I've had some amazing ones and some BAD ones. This ranks up there with one of the amazing ones.

Inside Atmosphere: Clean and simple. Not overly colorful or heavily decorated like a lot of Mexican restaurants can be. Music playing with authentic and nice.

I met the owner while I was there and talked to him for a little while. EVERYTHING is fresh, and it shows. Along with that they are using authentic Mexican family recipes. I cannot remember what the customer after me ordered, but when he did, they put the protein on the flattop and prepared it for him on the spot, so it was nice and fresh for him. There is an outside area for sitting in the warmer months and alcohol is coming soon.

To finish up this review, I will say this. If you are anywhere near this place and want this type of food, you are literally throwing away your money going Chipotle/Moes and other concepts similar to them. Go local, go fresh, go family owned with true authentic food not to mention amazingly friendly service. I hope they will have a location closer to me...

If you are craving Mexican food, and I mean AUTHENTIC Mexican food, this is the place to go! The Atmosphere is friendly and upbeat with hispanic music playing in the background and comfortable seating either inside or out and the place is very well cleaned. You are getting restaurant quality mexican food in a chipotle format but with better ingredients and more options for customization! All the entrees come with chips and salsa so the price is also really great for the amount (and quality) of food you are getting! Every single bite I took was delicious! The guacamole was the perfect dipping consistency and the chips didn’t break in it, they have my favorite white queso, which is not the overly salty kind, and the salsa is the exact kind you’d expect at a restaurant. My quesadilla had the perfect crisp on the outside and I got all the delicious toppings I could want in it. And if you’ve never had Horchata, well you should, I consider that my dessert, but they also offer actual desserts like Flan. All around, my brother and I agree that we will be returning any time we are craving Mexican...

Wife heard about this place at work. We checked it out on a Friday night and were more than pleasantly surprised. The portion sizes are large enough for 2 or 3 people. I got the Pizzabirria. It was huge and I could only eat 2 slices although I reheated a slice later that night. Cooked perfectly and the cook definitely understand the assignment. Same with the burrito bowl. It was way more than enough for a single serving and it was absolutely delicious! The nachos and salsa were great. Customer service was great as they were informative and patient. It was nearly empty when we walked in but the floors, counters, etc were very clean. We noted that we'd eat there again but we'd dine in so my wife could try some of their mixed drinks that look great and have some tasty sounding names! We'll...

Been here twice and had really great food both times. Margaritas are good, too. I've eaten the carnitas burrito bowl twice, birria tacos, and birria pizza. The food is hot, fresh, plentiful, and tasty!! I love that you can get the bowl with a protein of your choice and then add the extra stuff you want. I usually do carnitas, black and pinto beans, cilantro rice, queso, fajita-style peppers and onions, jalapenos, hot tomatillo salsa, and some pico de gallo. All orders come with chips and salsa. They have a wide selection of Jarritos sodas, fountain drinks, tea, beer, margaritas.
