So I meet up with some friends to have drinks and dinner the other night here . We entered and had to wait to be seated. There were three tables seated and half a dozen other tables empty. After about 5-10 minutes the waitress acknowledged us (5) . She said to give here a minute. Ok so we did and a few more to be nice . Finally we were seated and given menus . We looked the drink menus over and made our selection and she walked back over took our order . They were advertising a certain beer on a display and I asked if I could have that but they don’t carry that anymore so I ordered another. Everyone else placed their orders and she walked away and we started to talk. About 10 minutes later the waitress starts to walk over with the drink orders and I guess her lover was sitting at the bar and as she walked passed her they had a lil make out session while she was holding our drinks . She finally started to mosey on over to the table with the drinks and proceeded to hand them out. As she is handing mine to me she quickly pulls it away and brings it up to her nose and takes a deep whiff of my drink. Well let’s say this it was so close to her nose that I hope a nose hair or a booger didn’t fall out in the process. After a close inspection we all decided to make other plans for dinner as we were all slightly grossed out by the deep affection she has for the person at the bar and for the need to smell my beer so fondly. I Did not drink my beer ! And we went down the road on a Friday nite to the trusty ok Mexican restaurant and had a...
Read moreWe would sooner expire and dream no more (DON'T Fear the Reaper is playing in the background as I compose, and the cowbell is perfect) than wait in a brunch line, hence, we lucked into B+P Gastro Pub by fortuitous default. Clad in a vintage After Six Tux circa 1962 leftover from the Elvis Costello concert I missed the night before, serendipity had decidedly also chosen the "Fancy Pants" Burger for me, which will long remain the best burger I have ever savored, and that means it has surpassed the likes of the Daniel Boulud burger at dbBisto Moderne, which, while monumently delectable, is just too gigantic to preclude Kris Fuller's win of Best Overall Burger by virtue of her awesome Fancy Pants. The majority of our party having been long-time residents of the Windy City, the "Chicago Dog" prepared and presented with quintessential perfection by this lil Greensboro wonderment was no less serendipitous. Clues to unraveling the mystery of these delightful coincidences might be found somewhere in the ecumenical breadth of a bistro deeply steeped in the height of Southern Hospitality, with a lil ol' magical menu created with inspiration drawn from regional influences spanning the Nation, and a spectrum of meat selections from the finest Hebrew National All Beef Kosher Hot Dogs and Ground Short Rib & Brisket Burger Patties to Pulled Pork and Tempura Fried Shrimp. Enamored by a Front House second to none, we are fantastically sated and filled with most memorable delight, and able to continue our dream yet more ! XOXOXO, Eliza &...
Read moreSadly, I didn't get any pictures of the food here since I came to hang out with a friend! But the food looks just as promised like other photos taken on this places reviews.
The food here is good and fresh. Most of all, their items are made from scratch, so it's especially good! The hamburger sizes are big and filling and taste wonderful. They cook everything perfectly the way you ask them to.
I will say, though, as well that the portion sizes of the side items like tater tots, french fries, fruit, onion rings, or more etc are small and not so much is given to you leading to getting hungry again within so many hours after leaving this place. But everything still overall tastes amazing and is perfectly seasoned, and they don't over breed the onion rings and don't over season the fries and tots.
I am a bit upset though that the fruit bowl is literally 90% just cantaloupe and pineapple. I got a single two grapes and small quarter slice of a single strawberry piece. It was freshly cut up, though, as promised.
In the end, this place is a great hangout spot for friends and family to come to and get some nice, cozy, delicious food in this nice atmosphere. I'd definitely come here and check it out for an experience, especially because the inside setup is pretty cool with license plates all over the ceiling, for example, and a pink panther plushie just chilling by the windows! And beer prices are average. I'd...
