My little cousin lives right by this place and insisted that we all drop in and try it while we were visiting her. Crowning it the best boba spot in town, her excitement was contagious and after stopping in, I could see why she was so insistent!
The store is not very obvious to spot and even seemed a bit hidden to me, but upon entering it, I was immediately drawn into its anime-inspired ambiance. Every corner of the place was instagrammable from neon-lit signs, cozy nooks, photo booths, and a really cool backroom that's dimly lit so that the anime hung wall decor and collectibles really pop while you enjoy your snacks/beverages on the furniture. On a nice day, there's a nice shaded outdoor patio out back that you can also sit down at. A giant mural of iconic anime characters is painted across the back to admire while you eat/chat.
I'd be remiss if I didn't share how my experience was with the snacks/drinks! The menu was a bit overwhelming at first glance. It's full of different assortment of drinks with different ways to enjoy each. Hard to believe there wasn't SOMETHING available for everyone to like. Usually, I'd be all for boba, but I went with a sparkling yogurt mango drink instead since this preggo lady has already had her allowance of caffeine for the day. It was delicious, refreshing and generously filled with cute star-cut jellies to slurp up with the same giant boba straws to suck them up with. I also enjoyed my first Taiyaki which is a Japanese fish-shaped cake, commonly sold as street food. It imitates the shape of tai, which it is named after. The most common filling is red bean paste that is made from sweetened azuki beans, but I felt like Nutella instead! It came out warm, fluffy, and not overly sweet like I thought it might be which was refreshing. Would totally...
Read moreMy son and I visited this cute little Boba shop yesterday on our way home from visiting my sister. We were first drawn in by the pictures of all of the drinks and how amazing they looked. When we arrived, we were a tad lost because we’re not used to the area completely so we ended up, pulling around the back of the building and we’re even more excited to see some of our favorite anime characters. Once inside we were not disappointed, the drinks are so unique and fun and completely customizable. Also, I want to give a big shout out to the girl working the front counter last night around 5:30 PM. She was absolutely phenomenal. She was so patient with my indecisiveness and so attentive that she literally did not let me walk out the door until I was completely satisfied. I would give her 10 stars if I could. I wish I would’ve caught her name, but I just wanted to make sure to show some appreciation for that nice young lady, as she was absolutely amazing. We will absolutely be back! Oh, and my son absolutely loved the team rocket drink. He had a hard time choosing between that and the monkey D Luffy because that his favorite character. I ended up going with the Kyoto Nights, and while strong (I was warned!) haha it is so delicious. I am still sipping on it today! Thank you all for being...
Read moreI just had a to go order, but it was a really nice vibe and would be a nice place to hang with a small group. Employee seemed pretty cool too.
I had gotten a Black Lava Boba and 2 Taiyakis. The boba was too sweet, but employee did ask if I wanted to adjust the sugar so can't really blame them for it. Only problem with it is I normally don't expect it to be THAT sweet. It wasnt mixed too well either as there was so much brown sugar left over when I finished and I had at least 3 solid chunks of brown sugar come up with my drink, giving an unexpected crunch. Id normally mix my boba very well before drinking, but it wasn't sealed and had a lid with the mouth piece on it meaning a good mix will spill everything out immediately.
As for the Taiyakis, I've never had it and only seen it in anime so I have no idea what its supposed to be like, but it wasn't my favorite. Tasted like a fried oreo, except the batter was plain so I only bit the parts with the oreo in it. I tried the red bean too, 2 bites in and I was done (dont be afraid to try new things!).
Id give them another shot though knowing what I know now about the sugar level or maybe just trying...
