I'm a fan of Chinese buffets. I've been to this one several times in the past and enjoyed it. Used to seem like this one was superior to others in the area. Fancier, almost. Our recent experience, not so much. It seems like the quality of the food may have gone down in the past couple of years. We went on a Sunday, it was packed, which was to be expected. The price was high compared to others around, $17.99. But again, it always has been. We just expected it to be better. The sushi station had only a little bit out here and there. Pretty sure this because they had one poor older gentleman trying to make all the sushi AND do the Ramen station. I noticed the beef and chicken and Broccoli both had very little sauce. So little you couldn't pull any out of the bottom of the pan. There was just an oily substance. And very little meat. Mostly Broccoli. But I'm fine with that I like the Broccoli part! But was really missing that sauce! Most of the rest of the food was just bland and lacked some of the distinctive Chinese flavor. For example,, the fried chicken wings tasted like they just fried a plain chicken wing. Much of the seafood selection had an off taste and smell. None of the shrimp had been cleaned. Some of it we just couldn't eat. I actually ended up with diarrhea the whole next day. I didn't eat anything else that day sooo...I don't think that's ever happened to me. A couple pros. You could tell they knew how to keep up with demand on the buffet as they were constantly bringing out new platters and refilling hot items. Our waitress was fantastic. My husband had barely put his cup down after sipping the last of his drink and she dropped off another cup. Cleared plates often, had a great attitude even though you know she was busy, that kind of thing. We gave her a good tip. All in all, I don't think I'll go back unless I find out they've upped their game for the price they are charging. There are others in the area that charge less for a...
Read moreThe fact that the owner and his staff attacked a local community inspector going off of Google reviews and wanted to ensure the community could eat safely says aeons about this restaurant! As soon as he pointed out the unsafe measures, dangerous food temperatures that could cause poisonous situations to patrons he was attacked and ambushed starting from the cook that does not care about safety because he's preparing the salmonella for everybody and yes that's what happens when you prepare food unsafely at unsafe temperatures you get salmonella many patrons are complaining of vomiting and getting foodborne illnesses and the owner can only respond with hope you feel better maybe you got the wrong restaurant like everybody who's giving this place great reviews needs to check again and be glad that you were able to dodge the cockroaches because yes this was brought up to the owner's attention as well and all he could say was nothing he ignored patrons who asked and requested safe food environment and safe eating environments so no I don't care how many good reviews this place gets it's a health hazard and they do not care about their patrons they only care about overcharging for less than mediocre standing food 𤢠they should be ashamed of theirselves the owner the corporate everybody involved in poisoning patrons and not caring just fattening up their pockets! This is disgusting and disgraceful behavior and frame of mind they should not own a restaurant. Anyone in the business of preparing food for people should be able to be trusted with their health and safety! People are paying to be fed and not be poisoned no one deserves to have things coming out of both ends because they trusted their chef of the restaurant they chose to prepare their foods safely and correctly! People who prepare food for others should take pride in their cooking and do it accurately with...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreLet me start off by saying I'm no stranger to buffets. If you want your food hot, you have to dig down to the bottom of the pan.
So, stop for a quick lunch. 11:45 am. The lady who seated me was nice, got my drink, and proceeded to fix a plate. I sit down and begin to eat. Around 7 different items are on my plate from all over the buffet. Cheese stuffed mushrooms, the little wrapped shrimp, noodles, beef and broccoli , you know the basics on the buffet. First bite...food was cold. Like 70° cold. Ok, I didn't stir that one good. Next item...cold. 70° room temp cold, next item..same. So I flag down one of the wait staff and tell her there is a LOT of cold items on the buffet. She proceeds to tell me she can help me if I likeš§. Um help do what? Stir it again? She leaves. I push the plate to the side and try again. Next plate.... each item I put on the plate I stir like I'm practicing for the Olympic curling team. As I'm putting stuff on my plate I run into one of the guys in the back. I explained that there is a LOT of cold food on the buffet. He then explains to me that I must stir it from the bottom...thanks pal. Done that already. I explained and showed him how I was loading it on my plate. I explained it was still cold. He then points to the stainless table (on right side of buffet) to a microwave, and dude straight up told me if I want the food hot to microwave it. Attached is a photo of my food in the microwave
Edit. I did find 4 items warm enough to be considered "hot" ...not have to blow on it hot, but hot enough you thought you where 15 mins late for dinner hot.
Plantains , chicken wing, fried dumpling, and "crab" with cheese.
Even grabbed a item "fresh out of the kitchen " it was just above room temperature coming...
