I went on a solo date last night. To my surprise, I was deeply embarrassed and made to feel uncomfortable by the host. His mannerisms were just poor. He literally yelled at me to ask for my ID. I gave him my ID, and once he saw that I was of age (because I have great genes & I do look very young which I have no shame about) his mannerisms changed a bit, but I responded and told him next time be less aggressive and I said this while smiling. He almost attempted to cause a scene, but I just continued to smile to avoid conflict because I was the only person of color in that room. After experiencing such disgusting behavior, thankfully, there were two other gentleman that were so nice and pleasant towards me and they helped shift my experience. I was so uncomfortable after the interaction with the host and I definitely felt all eyes on me. I'm thankful for the bartender and the other waiter, apparently he just started working there, but he was so nice and respectful and informative about the restaurant. The food was good, I got the vegan options. Loved the vegan naan. My drink was tasty as well. My bartender/waiter also waited a bit to make sure that I liked it before leaving to tend to the other customers… Which I gladly appreciate.. I tipped my waiter very well just for his kindness and his help shifting the energy to make me comfortable again. Which he did just being his self because he didn't know what was going on. I don't think the host that I originally engaged with should be in...
Read moreFirst time experience recently, and the short summary is that it's by far the best Indian cuisine we've had in Greensboro. To be fair we haven't sampled a ton of options, but we're quite comfortable with Indian cuisine having had plenty before we moved to Greensboro. Everything about Noor makes it worth going, and we will definitely be returning.
Food - they absolutely bring the flavors with each dish we tried. If you're looking for spice, they offer it in 4 different gradients (so if you don't want too much spice you can still enjoy their dishes).
For our first experience we had the vegetable samosa (comes with two good sized samosas) and vegetable Pakora. The Samosa is crispy on the outside but the dough is soft and chewy; the inside is delicious. The Pakora is equally delicious; again the fry on it gives it a thin but crispy outside.
We had classic Chicken Tikka Masala and Chicken Chettinad Curry. Both flavorful, having depth and complexity and not just heat, and the portions are good sizes for entrees.
A few notes about the menu: as they say they have chefs from 3 different parts of India. There are plenty of different dishes, vegetarian and meat options. They may be able to make certain dishes not on the menu yet (I asked about Vindaloo) but be reasonable.
We had two cocktails that we enjoyed and look forward to sampling others next time.
Service was genuinely friendly and not overbearing and the atmosphere is comfortable for dinner whether family...
Read moreThe BEST Indian restaurant in Greensboro, hands down. The waitstaff were very friendly and knowledgeable, the lighting was flattering, and the music was pleasant without being so loud I couldn’t hear my boyfriend. The timing of the courses were on point, and they all came out hot and fresh (nothing tasted like it was under a heat lamp). The blend of spices, the quality of the ingredients, and the variety of items on the menu make this restaurant well worth the price. I love spicy stuff, but I usually set myself up for failure by ordering medium spice (it’s usually waaaay too hot). I ordered mild this time, and it was still spicy to the point I needed to blow my nose by the end of it, but the spice build was gradual, and everything was well seasoned. Perfect for a date night, offers both cocktails AND mock tails as well as some other fun beverages. My boyfriend and I got Papadum, Samosa, Biryani, Curry, Roti, and Tres Leches. My boyfriend and I have tried a lot of Indian cuisine, and this restaurant far exceeded our expectations. One of the chefs even came out from the back to bring us our dessert. We had gone to this place before while it was a seafood restaurant, not great. But for how quickly this restaurant put itself together, I’m really impressed. Everything was fantastic! Chef’s kiss mmmwah 🤌 (The price I selected on here per person takes drinks into account, the prices are actually...
