Sometimes when you go to Waffle House you be thinking World-Star or drunk parties at 2am!
But this, I don't know what they did but this was a Waffle House Redemption: Grits & Glory.
My Partner and I had three failed breakfast attempts before, one where we went in and sat down and just had to leave. Hangry wasn't the word that even met this moment. Then, the Waffle House glow beckoned. Skepticism met hope as we slid into a booth.
Orders barked, not a flicker of annoyance from our server. Minutes later, salvation arrived.
Two eggs, whites gleaming like sunlight on a lake. Grits, not glop, but creamy heaven. Then, the hash browns: Let me tell you as a recovering McDonalds man I've had my share of hash browns, but Waffle House just redefined the game. These hash browns were a perfect crispy, golden foundation, not greasy, each strand perfectly cooked. Then, the symphony of toppings: caramelized onions, melty cheese, chunks of savory ham, bursts of juicy tomato, a kick of jalapeños, earthy mushrooms... it was a flavor explosion in every bite. Let me tell you this wasn't just a side dish, it was the main event. The rest of my meal paled in comparison. I savored every forkful, a mix of textures and tastes that danced on my tongue.
In the end whoever made those hashbrowns let me tell you that each bite banished the morning's frustration. Waffle House, you weren't the plan, but you...
Read moreMy fiance and I went to this Waffle House today for dinner. We sat at the bar and was greeted by Joe (our waitress). She was the ONLY waitress there for 4-5 tables. She took our order and did everything right. She was so nice and professional! On the other hand, the cook was sitting in the booth from the minute we arrived to about the time we left, I believe her name was Niyah. She was beyond rude to our waitress and you could tell she just didn't want to be there. She didn't clean up after herself, she almost burned the food on the grill, and the waffles had to be made twice because she forgot the pecans. Another customer left because they claimed their food was raw!! After the cook made the food, she went right back to the booth and sat down. Our waitress ended up cleaning the dishes, the kitchen, and even started the waffles on another order for another customer because the cook did NOTHING! We ended up giving our waitress a nice tip because she continued to do the job of 2 people, but getting paid for 1. Nobody deserves to be treated that way! Niyah should be fired/reprimanded and Joe needs a raise!
I would give Joe 5 stars, but due to Niyah I dropped...
Read moreThis Waffle House is absolutely terrible/horrible/ and any other awful word you can think of. My husband and I walked in and Serenity, the waitress, greeted us and told us to sit anywhere. Our table was dirty and my husband was getting ready to ask them to clean it off, but he didn’t want to ask. She saw the table was dirty and came back to clean it and apologized. Serenity took our order and we sat there waiting. Come to find out there was no cook, they were waiting for him to arrive but he was late. When he finally got in he went straight to the back to the office. So Serenity and another young lady who has been there since 2pm started cooking our food. The guy cook in the back can be heard and seen coughing. When he finally decided to come from the back he reeked of weed… I asked to speak with the manager because the smell was just unbearable but they said they didn’t have one, which is odd. Serenity did what she could and kept apologizing but it wasn’t good enough for me, I’m sorry. I’m never going back to this Waffle House or maybe won’t be going back to any Waffle House...
