My experience was one of immense disappointment. Both the service and the food that I received that night were terrible. Upon entering the restaurant, we were told that in order to be seated we would need to order Korean BBQ, as those were the only tables available. I thought that was reasonable and agreed. My wife and I sat down and we ordered KBBQ Steak, KBBQ Pork Belly, the Tofu Stew, and an order of the Seafood Ja Jang Mien. 30 minutes after we placed our order, the waitress came back out and told us that I would not be able to cook my own because, "The owner is concerned that it will get too smoky." First of all, how are you going to serve Korean BBQ, coerced me into ordering it (most expensive stuff on the menu for amount of food), and then not allow me to do it? I was irritated, but I just wanted to eat and leave at this point so I obliged. The food came out and I was excited to dive into my Ja Jang Mien. The food came with noodles on a plate and the sauce in bowl. I mixed them together and took a bite and tasted nothing. The sauce was completely flavorless. I thought that maybe the seafood could save it, but boy was I wrong. The mussels were sandy, the scallops were literally too hard to eat it. I tried, my teeth could not cut through the scallop. Disappointed I pushed the dish aside and moved onto the KBBQ. They gave us ssamjang and lettuce wraps to eat it with. The pork belly was undercooked and the steak was ungodly tough and sinewy. I paid $30 for less than a pound of "steak" that I could barely chew and didn't even get to cook myself. The bill came out to $100 and I would have rather had the money fall out of my wallet into the gutter, than have to pay for a meal from them. I've been to many Korean restaurants all over the country and I can say without a doubt that this was the worst Korean food I've ever had and maybe some of the worst food I've ever had the displeasure of ordering from a restaurant. Avoid at all costs, if you're stuck in Greensboro and need Korean, just go for...
Read moreI am Korean, born and raised. Korean is my first language and I have eaten Korean food pretty much every day of my entire 50+ years on this earth. I may not look Korean… Yukejang is my favorite soup. I even make it at home. They sent me something today and it was not yukejang. I honestly thought they sent me someone else’s food by mistake. The chef came out and told me that I didn’t know what Korean food is and that I I obviously didn’t know how this soup was prepared. The main ingredients of the soup are green onions, shredded beef, gosari, glass noodles, and topped with egg in a spicy beef broth. Today had some greens, very little green onion, very little gosari, no noodles, no egg, and with an anchovy base. I hate anchovies. I can s smell and taste them a mile away. I am 1000% positive. The soup had an anchovy base because many Korean soups are prepared with anchovy and kelp. This particular soup isn’t supposed to be and it was. My friend is also Korean, born and raised. We grew up together. She tasted it and agreed that it was not the right soup, but he proceeded to tell us that we both didn’t know what we are talking about and that we obviously didn’t know what real Korean food is.. She ordered bijichigae and it was very gritty and sludgy. It tasted terrible, and she could not even eat half, despite the fact that we were both famished. We waited a good, 20 minutes before anyone came over to take our order. The server was very friendly, but unfortunately no one ever came by to check on us throughout our stay. I even had to go to the kitchen to ask if we could pay so we could leave. There was only one other table so they were not exactly busy all the while we could hear laughing and talking in the kitchen. The chef was at the opposite end of the restaurant dining with his friends. None of them could be bothered with those dining in the restaurant. That coupled with the fact that the food was pretty bad, and how we were insulted, I will never step foot into this...
Read moreSometime during the winter, I had the pleasure of eating some Korean BBQ during a visit to Georgia. I started pining for somewhere to have Korean BBQ again and my friends and I found this place when we were looking to celebrate my first paycheck at a job. I don't know where to begin with this service. I was a little confused about what I wanted, but they understood perfectly when I tried to explain that I wanted to cook my food at the table and helped us out with the menu's grill section to find something both my friend and I would like (I think it was bulgogi) I also got to try the wine, this one was much sweeter than I was used to and tasted more like a juice, so if you like sweet wines, theirs is wonderful! Oh, it also doesn't have much of that waxy after taste other wines usually have. I don't really like the waxy after taste, so I was overjoyed. I'm also a huge lover of Kim-chi and they had an entire pancake made out of it! And lots of Kim-chi options! There were also lots of little side items we had with our Korean BBQ that were all extremely tasty. Our server was also very attentive, not to just us, but to everyone that was there during our visit. He was extremely polite, making sure to wish us good evening as we left. I've eaten at many restaurants so far in the Greensboro area, and nothing compares to the wonderful food nor excellent service my friend and I received at...
