We tried this place today because we love Mediterranean food, but it was a big disappointment. I ordered a mixed plate with lamb, beef, and chicken. All three meats were overcooked and dry. The rice was just OK. The meat plate only came with and rice and a kind of vegetable stew that I didn't eat because the potatoes looked like they're rotten. I didn't send the plate back so as not to waste time, because we waited almost half an hour for the food.
My husband had a shawarma, which was actually pretty good. But the service was lacking. We had to ask for a glass with ice just to be able to drink what we were served, since they didn’t offer it when they brought our water and tea. We were helped by a young guy who clearly needs more training in how to be a good waiter. We later asked for help from a woman who seemed to be the manager—she was more helpful and polite, but overall the service was poor. The place itself didn’t feel clean or properly set up for a restaurant. Honestly, I don’t know how they got approval to open. It just wasn’t pleasant. I also got the impression that we may have been treated differently because we’re Hispanic. A lot of other customers who seemed to be Yemeni were served faster and maybe even treated better. It’s disappointing, especially because the online reviews were good and that’s why we decided to try it. But unfortunately, this was our first and last visit. When my husband went to pay, the girl apologized, I don't know if it was for the length of time we waited, the poor service, or the quality of the food, because I left more than half of my plate. Even though the shawarma was good and The seasoning on the food was nice, so overall, I can’t...
Read moreThis place looks to have been husband and wife owned. My husband was very hospitable as well as the wife. And that’s just an observation. I’m not sure that was the case. But the workers, the young ladies that worked there serving the tables serving the food and collecting payment was extremely rude. I can’t say for sure that it was racism, but no acknowledgment at all that I’m a patron in your restaurant is interesting to say the least. I waited for about 35 to 40 minutes to be addressed and she never once came to our table me and my wife. Then when I had to get the check and depart the restaurant she still did not come to my table. She served every other table within the restaurant, but me and my wife’s. So I then proceeded to walk up to the counter behind the checkout counter get my own to go containers and bag still, she did not address me at all, even though I went behind her counter to grab these items. Again, I can’t say it was racism, but it was very poor and...
Read moreAvoid the Greensboro location. We had two chicken dishes—the kebabs were not thoroughly cooked and the baked chicken was cooked to dry. The lamb dish was very expensive and tasted like an old, fatty roast. You can’t get a glass of water—you must pay for plastic bottles of water. The salad—which can’t be switched out—was green iceberg lettuce with some sort of tasteless white stuff drizzled on it. In fact, most of the food was tasteless—not even salted. They do have a very sweet tea for free. The hummus and bread were good but the meal for three was over a hundred dollars and below mediocre. The atmosphere was also disappointing. It’s like a big open barn with unpainted lumber around the booths. It was very cold. The waitress was nice but this was not a good experience. I think the good reviews must be for the...
